There is magic in the air!! After the wettest winter for centuries, surely we are due for something better! Not that poor weather will deter our peerless racers.
So, if you have a race or event in April, please make sure that you get off on the right foot with a massive Pom Pom Cheer on race day by replying to this post; we need the name and date of your event, plus a link to your race website if you can. We will then transfer that information onto the spreadsheet (link below) and book your Pom Pom call for your big day.
Hope we have lots of amazing events…it is nearly Spring!!
I will also be working with TailChaser as a Marshall for the Stratford HM and Full M on the 21st. Looking forward to this as it will be fun to be part of the event without having to do all the training. shakespearemarathon.org.uk/.
27th I am walking the 4th section of the Cotswold Way (already done the first 3 bits) Cleeve Hill to Birdlip. (8-10 miles) rjfitness.co.uk/booking/#/e...
And….
28th I am organising my cycle club’s Spring Challenge (up to 60 miles in a day). Although i won’t be riding on the day (too much organising to do) I am planning to recce the routes (all 75 miles of them) during the week before (probably over two days if the weather plays ball).
Just the one for me Beachcomber66 - The Aldershot Little Troopers 10k on 28th April. Little Troopers is a charity supporting children whose parent/s are serving in the military. This is their inaugural event - I know the area so am looking forward to the run.🙂🫡
I should have remembered from last year’s event. I think it was Dexy5 waxing lyrical on the subject. Sounds delicious. Off limits for me now. Pre diabetic 🙄 by just 1 point. Quick way to lose half a stone though!
No events for me BC, but I was down to run with the HU crew at Monsal Trail. I had to cancel, but for a good reason. Our holiday to Brittany was brought forward due to our younger daughter’s baby being due during our original dates in June! 🥰
Hello BC! So, after a bit of a hiatus in March, April is quite busy…
Apart from what Shake-and-run mentioned earlier, Katnap and I will be running the London Landmarks HM and raising money for Tommy’s on the 7th April.
Then, for some strange reason, the following week on the 14th, Katnap is running the Manchester Marathon. Youngest kitten and I will also be running the Manchester Marathon but we are doing a relay - I’m doing the first half and youngest kitten will be doing the second half. It will be his first ever HM, and he is actually training for it!!!
Eldest kitten will be our baggage handler. It’s all quite exciting really 😃
🙂 my visits to Paris never got that far! A friend and family lived in the 7th near Musee D’Orsay; lots of restaurants and bars of course…..I should have got out more!
SHHHHH.... YES ! I do... honestly... I really do !!! I shall be at ... the Monsal Trail 10K on the 7th!!!
Yes I will... I really will!
I cannot wait to meet up with some of our running buddies again, it is such a fabulous time... and I am hoping I shall be feeling in trim for that day...!! xxx
Ive got the Boston HM on 28th April . Not expecting to get a sub 2hr like I did last year as fitness still not back to where Id like it to be, but most of our running club are either doing the HM or the full, so Im just going to do it with a few running buddies and enjoy it (well hopefully!|) 😁
I'm doing the Monsal Trail HM on Sunday 7th April. I've taken part in two HU virtual HMs, but this will be my first official one! I walk parts of Monsal trail with family every year and I love it. It's also nice to know that other VRBs will be on the route, running the 10k at the same time. I can't decide if I'm excited or nervous - probably a bit of both! 😃
So I can virtually run with other HU April 7thers and work my way back to 10k in time for the HU 10k I've booked a 9k fun run/walk on the same day. Aim - to finish, there could be hills involved 😜 but it'll be worth it for the views at the top.
Brilliant news lexi6; great to hear from you. I have had a look at the web site….there seems to be a pretty substantial hill right there! I will get on and add you into the lists. Lots of HUers (including me!) will be very pleased to “see” you 🙂
thank you Beachcomber66 you're very kind. I know its only 9k but I think sustenance for that thar hill, is needed, so double chocolate, walnut and greek yoghurt brownies wrapped and ready, courtesy of Anita Bean (only 244 kcal) I had heard a rumour that you may be partial to a brownie, just saying!
Triple chocolate brownie to be precise! 😋. Sadly they are banned at the moment. NHS has deemed me “pre diabetic” (ok score 41, my score 42!) so I am on a course and a diet which I think I don’t really need….I am melting away rapidly…hopefully it will help my pace! Calories are not the problem (10 pounds gone in about 6 weeks); sugar is the issue. I have a “would one brownie a week be ok?” approach planned for Wednesday’s class….foot in the door 👍
Pom Pom battery is already on full alert and good to go Reggit. You will have HU actual company in TailChaser , Katnap +1 and John_W . Really exciting; worry not, the HU Horde is with you.👍
Probably by design I should think. When we were in Gozo a resident quickly pulled me up for walking on the sunny side of the street…and too quickly! They know how to handle heat.🙂
