Challenging 9 miles, weatherman got it wrong again and I startled a cow!

I was due my 9 mile run today and as a warm afternoon was due which me and my heart rate struggle with I decided to get up and out early.

The weatherman said at 7 it would be 14 degrees, breezy and raining which sounded perfect to keep me cool but he fibbed...it was 16 and sunny and would be 18/19 and sunny by the time I was done.

As expected I found it really difficult as it got warmer, though every time the sun hid for a while it felt so much easier...I admit to a couple of short walk breaks about 7 miles in on a hilly stretch, I felt like my heart was racing so it seemed the right thing to do!

A few minutes later as I rounded a corner on a gated country footpath I was surprised to see a massive brown cow in front of me, taking up half of the room...I jumped, it jumped and stared at me looking nervous so I gently eased past it and slowly walked up the hill hoping it wouldn't run after me, lol! I started running again once it couldn't see me, until I came to a creepy looking cottage down a little lane. I'm not sure if it was sensible as I was in the middle of nowhere but I paused my watch and went to the door hoping to tell someone about the escaped cow. No such luck, turns out it was empty.

Anyway, I made it home, tired but pleased to have managed the distance...hopefully the cow made it home too πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ„πŸ€ž

That was eventful!!! Bet the cow got your heart racing all over again πŸ˜…. Great distance though, well done! I battled elevation rather than heat today, but kept telling myself it would make me stronger for a normal long run πŸ˜€

We learn to be great negotiators with the way we talk ourselves into whatever today's running challenge happens to be...well done on your hill running πŸ‘ŠπŸ™‚

The best laid plans ....lol πŸ˜‚

That sounds like a challenging run - heat, hills, lost cows and deserted isolated cottages. Well done on the distance and hope you've had a relaxing afternoon xπŸ‘πŸ˜

Thanks, it wasn't the easiest of runs, lol!

Had a very lazy afternoon and a couple of drinks tonight seen as I can enjoy a lay in tomorrow 😴

Perhaps the cow lives in the cottage.

So what a lovely sunny day it is today. No better day to have a sneaky run in your lunch break....

Day 9 of head injuryness. It started off tediously and got boringer and boringer from there.

At least my grammar hasn't suffered though. Still here. Feet up on the injury couch, a bag of peas...
