I was due my 9 mile run today and as a warm afternoon was due which me and my heart rate struggle with I decided to get up and out early.
The weatherman said at 7 it would be 14 degrees, breezy and raining which sounded perfect to keep me cool but he fibbed...it was 16 and sunny and would be 18/19 and sunny by the time I was done.
As expected I found it really difficult as it got warmer, though every time the sun hid for a while it felt so much easier...I admit to a couple of short walk breaks about 7 miles in on a hilly stretch, I felt like my heart was racing so it seemed the right thing to do!
A few minutes later as I rounded a corner on a gated country footpath I was surprised to see a massive brown cow in front of me, taking up half of the room...I jumped, it jumped and stared at me looking nervous so I gently eased past it and slowly walked up the hill hoping it wouldn't run after me, lol! I started running again once it couldn't see me, until I came to a creepy looking cottage down a little lane. I'm not sure if it was sensible as I was in the middle of nowhere but I paused my watch and went to the door hoping to tell someone about the escaped cow. No such luck, turns out it was empty.
Anyway, I made it home, tired but pleased to have managed the distance...hopefully the cow made it home too πββοΈππ€
