This is a very special Friday, because it is the first VIRTUAL POM POM post!!!!
Today I simply ask that we give a pom pom cheer to all of us! π
I am currently signed up to run the postponed Brighton Marathon in September, but in the meantime I am dreaming about running the marathon by myself - my vBrighton Marathon!!! I got on Strava today and drew up a special version of the route that starts and finishes down at my end of town, and I'm SO looking forward to running it πππ Of course, as people who follow me on Strava may have seen, this will not happen any time soon as I currently have a problem with my hip and am not running far. But I'm getting there!
I hope, anyway, that all of us who are able will be allowed to continue running outside (while taking all precautions of course). And if you too have a virtual race planned, remember that we now have some extra-specially fabulous VIRTUAL BADGES available to win, as explained in this post:
It's great to hear you have a target and focus roseabi
I completely forgot to go running on wednesday π . I'm going to try for 10 miles over the weekend to help the vitality challenge and maybe get myself badge! Not completely sure about it as I seem to get leg pains at 14k!
Happy running everyone. The weekend forecast seems good βοΈπ€
Go, go, go lovely runners! If you can get out there this weekend, enjoy your runs, clock up some miles for vrwc, grab yourself a PB or a virtual medal, but most of all enjoy the freedom you have to run. If you can't, keep the faith, dream of those first steps once you can. Everyone, take good care of yourself right now xxx
Hi you wonderful runners...my Pom poms are well and truly out and waving at you all...thereβs nothing like a good Pom Pom wave on a Friday...even on this kind of Friday. Although I am secretly glad my three children are going to be at home with me, theyβre my favourite people so I am having a little Pom Pom wave for that too!!!! Happy Friday everyone...stay safe xxx
Enjoy your virtual marathon Roseabi. Iβm waving pom-poms for everyone. It has now been announced that gyms will close so you treadmill runners can try outdoor running for the first time. Keep safe, keep running.
Lol, can you imagine...10 miles or more on the treadmill, now that would take dedication π...thank you mother nature for the great outdoors π π
Yes I think we all deserve a cheer and maybe a bevvie after this crazy week. To anyone running indoors or out, virtually or otherwise, stay safe, stay healthy. Weβve got this. I may try a longer quiet solo trail run on Sunday on a lonely stretch somewhere. Time to download some podcasts...
Have you come across Rich Roll? I love his podcasts to fall asleep to because they are very high quality recordings so they are quite soothing-sounding. But they are often too interesting! I listened to "Dan Peres: From opioid slave to sober salvation" yesterday - not running related, but fascinating!
Yes I have his podcast on my listen list. There are so many though! My favourite is still Trail Runner Nation. Those two are hilarious. Iβm going to give this one a listen this weekend. - thank you!
Go go go everyone! So many virtual pom poms to be had for everyone. We all deserve them. πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Gosh youβd deserve more than a pom pom or two if you ran a solo marathon roseabi! I sincerely hope weβll be back to some kind of normal by September ..... π€ In the meantime look after that pesky hip. π
Off to the common tomorrow and Sunday to help the VRWC. Itβs open enough to spot other walkers/runners a way off, so easy to stay safe. Iβm getting to know every inch! πππ
Pom poms shaking for you all getting out there! I havenβt been a regular here for a while, but there are many fabulous people here I care about.
Iβve been taking the parkrun cancellation and race postponement as a chance to get my troublesome big toe to sort itself out. But I think I might have to come out of retirement to get my lovely boy (13) active while heβs off school. No walk to school, no PE, no swimming... he doesnβt realise it now but heβll miss these things. I think an occasional jog with his Dad will be just the ticket.
There wonβt be any left as OH is in π. Cake crumb trail in the kitchen this morning is a bad sign π€¨. It was Genoa. Waaaaagh π°. Iβll take a couple of my bars out the freezer to keep me going on the run. I might take a drink as it looks bright out
Brilliant idea! From my (virtual) IC, I enthusiastically wave my huuuuuge virtual pom-poms for all runners at every stage of their running journey. ππΌπππΌππΆπ΅πΆπππΌπ Keep going, folks. This too shall pass, and quicker if we can keep running! ππ
Happy Running everyone and good luck with your virtual races! here on the island a lot of running groups have set up a individual members strava picture map competition to draw something interesting via your run! Im not running right now as mainly staying in this week with niggly throat to be on the safe side.
But hope to be out there soon.
I'm waving Pom poms at you all ππππβxxx
