It's Friday, and you get a special bonus of not one, not two, but THREE Marathon posts from Me!!! π
Actually, given the subject-matter of my other posts, I am a little hesitant to post this. And by the way, anyone with a cancelled event, or who is thinking they should give their race a miss, please do have a look at our Virtual Race Badges post: healthunlocked.com/marathon...
However, we always want to celebrate our runners, and I know you will all be following the advice to keep safe. So let's raise our sparkly pom poms for our runners this weekend!!!

How brilliant to have so many people running this weekend. Good luck to each and every one of you, and special thoughts for those doing the distance for the first time.
I shall be waving my Pom poms from the IC and looking forward to post race reports and pictures of bling πββοΈππ½πββοΈπββοΈππ½
Thank you! Bath decided yesterday to go ahead. After a chat with hubbie we've decided to go. I'm not sure if it's the right decision or not but I'm as sure as I can be that neither of us are unwell, and I figure catching it before the peak might have some advantages (clutching at straws here maybe!). I may not get to the starting pens as early as I might have done and certainly won'tbe clinging to the railing, will take my own water and keep my tissues to myself, take care when taking my medal and water at the end (always assuming I make it). If anyone has any more suggestions, please let me know! Other than that I will keep my fingers firmly crossed.
Good luck to everyone else racing - have a good one; to anyone who has decided not to, or can't, keep thise fitness levels up -there will be lots of other opportunities π
good luck Linda, you have worked hard training for this and deserve to run your race. So long as you don't go around licking people it will be fine. Runners in theory should be fit and healthy and as we are constantly drinking then in theory we are in a strong position to not get this
Yes, try to avoid the aid stations and carry your own supplies Mine is a short run up some BIG hills and there is sure to be mud so a normal weekend for me
I had to laugh at the end of mine last week, a lady walking down beside me towards the goody bag tent, asked quite innocently......βdo we get a medal?β .......I thought whhaaattt! do we get a medal? ..........are you mad?........of course! I wouldnβt do all that and no medal!.......π..............and I did wonder about how Iβd get hold if it, luckily a mate was handing them out and sort of chucked it over my head without touching me.......like hoop la.....π....
I'm supposed to be handing out medals at LLHM in two weeks (π¨), you've just added a whole new dimension to it. Maybe I better practise on family and friends first, wouldn't want to start a whole new category of running injury. Or maybe there'll be training before the race starts πππ
Thanks everyone. I still wonβt believe Bath is happening until I get to the start line! Talk about keeping us on tenterhooks ........ I have the local news on now, and every sporting event around is being cancelled! Arggghh!
Good luck everyone else representing HU! Hope you all get to run. Stay safe. πππππ
Whoop whoop, lots of lovely racing folks this weekend...let's pray there are no cancellations π
Good luck everyone and special mention to our Bath Half Marathoners, hoping all your aches and pains have improved enough that you are good to run π€π€πββοΈ
