Five weeks done, more questions than answers but will keep getting out there and finding workable solutions.

I know I should be doing more cross training,I know the nhs recommendations of at least 2x1 hour sessions per week, used to go to the gym every day.But at present at least I have started JuJu’s plankety plankathon.👍

So that is all I am going to do at present.

January 100k + trotting and got myself up to 11k or 110 mins on my feet.

Feb I have had to even go slower than a snail if I am going to get a 100k + done and upto 20k or over 3:20 hours on my feet.Got to repair well and avoid niggles.

I am aware that I may have to ease back from Jan achievements to avoid injury.

In Feb I have only done 4K,6k & 8k as some sort of consolidation and ticking over strategy.

Avoiding injury, enjoy and get home safely,is the first requirement, and definitely my present programme is going to take much longer.I foolishly thought I could just trot upto the HM distance as per 18 months ago.

I have had great support on here and I am using it.Without it I would have just shelved the idea and just done a casual maybe 2-3 hours a week.

Perhaps that may well be the outcome can only keep plugging away for a little bit longer.

The main thing is to avoid injury, your trots are going wonders Tbae, that's great news that you are doing Ju Ju's plankety plankathon, I started that as well with a 1 minute plank this morning before breakfast

After breakfast I got the bus to Dunfermline for my first parkrun of 2020, it was a good run, completed it in 33.30, I thought it was 34.30 but then remembered that the run started a minute later than it should have. 😊 🏃🏾

That’s great running Alan.Speedy.💪👍

Thanks for your advice. My first goal is to try and get the distance without walking but certainly by slowing down.If and when with increasing distance I have to walk, then for me the trot is finished for that day and I will just walk home.

That’s me and I am just saying.

Thanks Alan and well done.

As someone who is currently injured, your approach sounds very sensible to me. No rush to get to your target distances Tbae. Steady build up, recovery and adaption is the right approach. Well done on Jan, good idea to ease off a bit this week 👍.

Your doing it on your own terms Tbae and there is nothing wrong with that. The sensible approach usually is the wisest. You’ll get there, I am sure.

Yeah plugging away, .slowly and avoiding injury Your body is adjusting and strengthening. The cross training could be yoga which is fab. I just stick my dvd on 🙂. I keep moving in general, which I think helps

Keep going and have fun out there 👍😃
