I bought a pair of Asics when I started running in 2018, the shoes have been comfy and never had any issues. I clocked up a further 800+ miles in 2019 and have just started feeling a few aches, and putting it down to lack of support and old trainers. I went out yesterday and got properly checked for new trainers, they were great; looking at my gait and where I needed support etc.
New Brooks trainers bought and tested - lightweight, great support around the back. Still a few aches, but I think it’ll take a little while for me to change my running style, plus I have increased my training ready for Brighton 1/2.

Well done, they look great. Just back from a 10k run myself and I think it's time for a visit to Up & Running for me as I too have just started to feel a few sore bits on my feet that haven't been there before....
Goodness, more than 1500 KM? They've done well...I reckon mine have done well if I get 700 KM... enjoy your new shoes, they're lovely by the way, and may they give you as many happy running miles as their predecessors.
They are gorgeous! I am hoping to go to a running shop next week and do a gait analysis to see what shows up, did you feel pressurised you buy shoes on the spot?
The man in the shop was great, knew his stuff, and was dealing with 6 people all at once. Each time he moved round to the next person he knew where they were at and what they were after. I’d been out for a few tests around the block with different shoes, and on each return he asked me questions about the feel etc. Once I was happy with a pair, I asked about other colours, which he brought out, but there was no pressure at all. When I was ready, I caught his eye, and said I’d take them. I didn’t know how much they were, but he gave me a discount, due to being in a local running club. If I didn’t want to buy there and then, I could have said I’d be back etc.
1 lady came in returning a pair as she wasn’t happy with them and wanted to try others. It was all quite relaxed, even the fact that we (all the customers) were taking turns running round the block outside.
