Alexa seriously got the temperature wrong this evening! 8°C? Actually 4°C. Slightly under dressed for the Monday Club run, but had fun anyway. Interval training along the same stretch of road as the local athletics club! At one point they cleared the way with a shout of “runner coming through”. I veered sideways waiting for a real runner to go past, but they meant ME! I had to laugh and thank them, my 9:30 minute miles were nothing next to the speed demons on 5 minutes, but they showed me real respect. Maybe they realised I was old enough to be their granny!
Another 5 miles in the bag. 😊

Blimey that’s fast! Sounds like a speedy club! Well done you, I went to a club like that once, unfortunately my experience was nothing like yours, one of the members made no effort to hide their irritation at having to wait for me - being the slowest.....
Haha, Weirdly there are 3 clubs in town. Ours who are slightly bonkers and do lots of off road, trail and XC as well as ultras and other madness.
The big one for beginners and improvers who are brilliant and really inclusive.
And the proper athletics club, who do all types of track and field and are quite serious about it all.
We constantly bump into each other when out running, probably due to the suitability of different roads for training purposes. Lots of friendly banter on the surface with bitter rivalry underneath (for some. I don’t race, I just run due to my total lack of competitive instinct!).
Some in my club are quick . My OH for one, but most are there for enjoyment!
Oh and my 9:30 minute mile? That’s my fast bit of interval. 5 minutes, then recovery at 10. No way am I speedy!
