Anyone have any experience using lock laces? Had to stop twice the other day to re tie my shoelaces so I’m thinking of getting some. Do your feet feel secure enough in them?

I just double knot them.

They are fabulous! (And also accommodate the fact that our feet will swell a little)

Ive been using them for about 18 months now. I always used to be stopping to adjust the tightness of the laces and had laces come undone regularly (usually when it’s cold and wet and fingers too numb to re-tie easily). As GoogleMe says the elastic in them means they flex enough to cope with swelling feet etc. I was worried that my feet wouldn’t feel secure but it hasn’t been a problem.

Thanks for the advice, they’re only a couple of quid so I’ll give them a go and report back 👍

I double knot tightly, then check them before I start running. *Touch wood* no problems with them coming untied even on my long muddy runs. 🤞👍

Lots of people don’t use the last 2 holes correctly. If you create a loop each side between the last 2 holes then use the loops as the last ’eyes’ the laces self-lock on each side to some extent, well enough that there is less strain on the tied bow. Mine never come undone and I’m guessing the lacing helps.

That explanation doesn`t paint a great explanation on rereading it. Probably best to take a look at this video...the first lock lacing technique shown - youtu.be/yuiVJBJCgqE

This is how I always lace my running shoes. And with a double knot on top. The beauty of this technique is that you can leave the laces quite loose, so the shoe feels more comfortable and tie it up as tight as you want at the end. The loose part will remain loose.

I also recommend using the extra hole in the way Lordi describes. It secures the shoe round the heel and makes it much less likely everything will move. Then, a double knot of the laces

So, I bought some lock laces and fitted them to my Adidas trainers - the laces were too short to double knot and the shoes don’t have the extra eyelets to heel lock. The lock laces are great! So easy to fit and use. I use the heel lock method on my Brooks so I’m not too sure if lock laces would be any good for them.
