I was considering doing the Mount Saint-Michel (Normandy) Marathon -my first ever!- as an anticipated birthday gift to myself, but the idea of a Marathon on tarmac makes me shudder because of a Morton Neuroma. I renounced to it. I have a particular emotional link to Mount Saint-Michel, so I felt quite sad, but hey...I am more of an off road runner, anyway...
Then, after taking part on the incredibly beautiful St Michael's Mount (Cornwall) Remembrance Run on the beach of Marazion, I got to talk to an adorable hard core endurance runner over the post-race cake. To consider the 53 km Trail of the Archangel on the same Mount Saint-Michel series hadn't crossed my mind. I went home, I checked if some runner had posted his/her race on YouTube, started watching and as soon as I felt THAT smile on my face, I knew I was in trouble.
I logged into my Human Race account and signed up for The Trail of the Archangel on May 23rd.
Our running shoes take us to the limits of the impossible. I can do this. Oh, God...
