So after my crazy cold windy blow you off the hill 10k trail race on Saturday healthunlocked.com/bridgeto... , I just signed up for another trail race next month
I may’ve lost my mind, but am doing the 12.5k. The elevation change is 550m for the 12.5k so about 200m more than the BFF 10k but there appears to be 4 hills; 3 close together followed by a valley and a hill ending relatively flat. It is over 3 hours away so won’t get any training runs on it but will continue enjoying my close to home trails.
I may’ve just lost my mind 🤭

Looks like a lot of fun Allie! Why not? I was looking at the Around the Bay 30k race for next year. And maybe the Sulphur Spring 10trail race too. Both are popular races over here. Depends on what I wind up focusing on after this next race.
Very likely the trail run. Its not open just yet. But the 30k is a serious challenge with 3 big hills at the very end 😬 still time to decide. Its only 30 bucks tho
Lots of time to decide. The price is sure right though. And hills are good for you 😆. There is a trail race along the river valley in Edmonton Thanksgiving weekend that is cheap like that but it is the weekend before this race so I likely won’t do it. The pics look pretty challenging, too. It was a good excuse to go visit family though. We’ll see. Back to back races might be a little much for this newbie.
I'm definitely enjoying my trail running. It'll be hard to get back to running the asphalt pathways in town again. But until the snow gets deep, I'll continue to drive out to the lake and get my trail fix 😁
That looks amazing! My trails are 30 minutes out of town and incredibly isolated without cell coverage so I would be concerned if something happened, but you never know what the winter brings. Perhaps some snowshoe running 😉
Thanks Sandra. I sure hope so. I’m feeling a little lacking in motivation all of a sudden, but did treat myself to a few new long sleeve running tops yesterday and am going to go to a run shop in the city on the way to my race to look for a decent running jacket. I’ve proven to myself i’m In this for the long haul so t is worth the investment. It does a world of good for my mental health.
