Well I did it, I wasn't sure I would when I set out as I was feeling just a little bit under the weather.
The revised plan was to run 8K which would bring me by the house for a wee and a couple of jelly babies and then I'd decide how I felt and if to carry on.
Felt ok and I was half way there so what the heck...off I went in a different direction which I was looking forward to as it's the 1st time I'd decided to leave town and head off in to the countryside for a few miles.
Around 10K my left foot arch was giving me a bit of trouble and had me concerned I'd have to stop, but luckily when I changed cadence and started up a 500m hill it eased off and only ever came back as a mild ache occasionally so I continued on...hopefully I won't regret it!
I had a bit of a shock at around 12K when I hit a 1K sludgy hill as I'd convinced myself it was pretty much flat or down hill for the last couple of miles or so but I just took it ridiculously slow (9 min/k!) and carried on.
I was a bit tired by 14K but knew I'd be home in less than 15 minutes and the warm fuzzy feeling at approaching a goal kept me going.
Yay, it was a few minutes slower than what I'd had in my head, but I am so pleased to have done it. And those few minutes just give me a goal for next time, or the time after that πββοΈππ

Well done Run46. First 10miles gives you a lovely feeling. Good time too, especially when the claggy hill is factored in. You need to look after yourself for a couple of days; you have used up loads of calories so eat drink and sleep!! Donβt forget to claim your 10 mile badge. You deserve it!! ππππππ₯
Thanks BC, yes will take care and be restful for a couple of days.
Had my 1st sports drink today, don't usually bother but as this was a longer run and I was very salty tasting when I had my shower I thought it was a good idea!
Big bowl of tuna pasta planned for tea and I got myself a triple chocolate muffin as a treat for pud π
Fabulous run there, all the better for having thought you wouldn't make it today. Congratulations! Look for the pinned post and go claim your shiny 10 mile badge πππ
Thatβs absolutely brilliant Run46, and what a great time too. Huge well done to you. πππ
Get yourself onto the pinned post and request your new badge. I donβt know about you, but I find badges and bling very important! Enjoy staring at it, you definitely deserve it. π π
