Well I did it, I wasn't sure I would when I set out as I was feeling just a little bit under the weather.
The revised plan was to run 8K which would bring me by the house for a wee and a couple of jelly babies and then I'd decide how I felt and if to carry on.
Felt ok and I was half way there so what the heck...off I went in a different direction which I was looking forward to as it's the 1st time I'd decided to leave town and head off in to the countryside for a few miles.
Around 10K my left foot arch was giving me a bit of trouble and had me concerned I'd have to stop, but luckily when I changed cadence and started up a 500m hill it eased off and only ever came back as a mild ache occasionally so I continued on...hopefully I won't regret it!
I had a bit of a shock at around 12K when I hit a 1K sludgy hill as I'd convinced myself it was pretty much flat or down hill for the last couple of miles or so but I just took it ridiculously slow (9 min/k!) and carried on.
I was a bit tired by 14K but knew I'd be home in less than 15 minutes and the warm fuzzy feeling at approaching a goal kept me going.
Yay, it was a few minutes slower than what I'd had in my head, but I am so pleased to have done it. And those few minutes just give me a goal for next time, or the time after that πββοΈππ
