Well I have been reading the many posts of "My running cohort" . ie those who started C25K around the same time. Looks like I should make an effort to do something a bit more adventurous now that I have been regularly running for 2 years
Half Marathon sounds like a good shout ( ooh its quite a long way!). I needed to find somewhere flat, close and a good cause to run for.
My wife and mother of our 4 children is a cancer survivor so Cancer Research UK fits the bill for the good cause. Cambridge is not too far from where we live and should be flat. So..... Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon on 8th March 2020 it is.
Place applied for and granted , just giving page set up. Just need to get the old body trained up.
Woo hoo.
P.s. Did the Parkrun at Panshanger this morning (photo) to get me in the mood! Wish me luck

Oooooohhhhh! Me and my OH will be doing Cambridge HM.......(fingers crossed we get a place.....) it’s our home HM, you’ll love it.
(13.1 miles IS a long way! ) but, you’ve got great sights in the city, it’s always well supported, and lovely Grantchester to run through, bands playing etc., etc., and it is relatively flat.......😉
Yay! Sounds like a great move to me. 👍 And you know, 13 miles is not so bad once you’ve done the training. 😁 Running for a great charity and one close to my heart - good on you. Keep us posted on how the training goes - we are hear to cheer you on, John!
Exciting times! A great decision - this event always sounds good to me and it's clearly very popular. There should be lots of people on here training for spring HMs around the same time to keep you virtual company 👍
