Sunshine after the rain ☔️ ☀️

After a weekend of biblical rainfall, this morning dawned sunny with blue skies. A lovely mild early autumn morning, perfect for a run. Focus for the next 3 weeks (apart from surviving Lyme Park on Saturday😬) is trying to maintain a steady 7min/km pace, which is the target I’ve set myself. Success - 7km in 48:22! Happy Monday everybody 🏃‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️

You are going to smash the GSR Sandie! Can’t wait to see you in action - except you’ll be ahead of me all the way!

Lovely morning for a run today wasn’t it? Ashton Court for me, steeling myself for Lyme Park! 💪💪

I think you’ll be up that hill at Lyme Park before me 😃

Well done Sandie, a nice steady run for you. I’ve been reminded by Stanley that I have done Lyme Park- it’s just that I had walking boots on . 😂🥾

Good discipline Sandie. Too many people preoccupied with PBs if you ask me 😂. Lovely day up here too 👍

It seems to be my happy pace, so makes sense. Can’t you tell I’m feeling nervous already 😬

I wish my happy pace was 7 😉

I know how it feels!! About 6.50 feels like a happy pace for the start of a 10k after yesterday. Much slower for anything further though! As you will have gathered I approach all runs cautiously. We both know you will be fine!😊

I tend to go off into my own little world and the legs naturally go at about 7. I can push them when I want to and parkrun is usually about 6.30, but I’m definitely more comfortable a bit slower on the longer runs.

I think that I have three paces now. Park Runs start at 6; 10k can start at 6.50 to 7 after yesterday, which taught me a lot, longer runs are still 7.45 start territory. Easy to see where the work is needed! A lot of it is still "how I feel on the day" , so I never take anything for granted.....hence all the pre run stress!! I need to remember Woody Allen's maxim: 90% of success is just turning up!

Simply grand... what a beautiful day ! Very relaxed running there and why not with such beautiful scenery :)

Lyme Park ? Hills? You just get over them, says she .. who nearly crawled up the hill this morning... although I did beat the traffic... ( it was stationary ) Ha ha.

You are going to have a fabulous time:) xx

It was gorgeous Oldfloss after such a miserable weekend. I was weaving around fallen conkers, crushing beechnuts and jumping over puddles all the way. One of those relaxed runs where everything just felt good 😃

It didn’t last - the rain arrived again about 4.30, thankfully just after I got back from the dog’s afternoon walk 😃
