HM training week12 day3 - 70 minutes in zone 1/2, av pace 10.20min/km

12.5 minutes in zone 3, so I did stray out of the zones a bit, but not too bad. I’m getting heartily sick of the training now, so I thought soddit and took my phone and took photos. GoGo_JoJo the buddy pouch is really good. My phone was safe but easily accessible, and the pouch was so comfortable, I hardly knew it was there, worn between navel and hip. All those armbands and belts etc I’ve tried and this beats them all hands down!

So, totally gorgeous day, warm, sunny with hazy light and the rich colours of autumn. I wish the forum allowed for multiple photo uploads: I took twice as many pics as I can show here.

Only fly in the ointment: I hit my gammy knee the other day and I have some of the same pain that had me laid up earlier in the year - three weeks before my half!!! ☹️

A pity about your gammy knee Flick, however, you took your run reasonably well so it wasn't really a problem with your running today, that HM gets nearer by the day. 😊 🏃

It is a beautiful day, perfect running conditions. Bad luck with the knee 🙁. Am sure if you ice and elevate, and rest for a few days (when is your taper?), you should be okay. (I barely ran during my taper, cos of my injury!) Hope it feels much, much better soon, lovely. xxx

Thank you dearest Sadie ❤️ Taper begins on the 29th I think. It can’t come too soon! Xxx

Sounds great, I'm looking at them on their own website.

Fingers crossed for the knee. Isn't that always the way! 🙈

That knee has a force field round it that says bash me!

Ooh must look at the website. I’m such a geek 😂

Ooh, the bottle one looks useful!

Flick, you have been so regimented with your training. You thoroughly deserve to smash your HM and I know you will. 👊🏃‍♀️

How on earth you had the patience with your HR training I’ll never know, but you’ve stuck with it! Awesome work - bet you can’t wait for the main event now! 🎉

Great photos on today’s run. What a spectacular day it’s been! 😍

Aw thank you. I enjoyed it to begin with, but it’s getting a bit much now! But not too long to go xx

Lovely photos Flick. I love taking photos on a run but I have to be disciplined otherwise I'd end up just taking photos and not actually doing any running 😏

Three weeks!! How exciting. Not long to go now, I can understand why at this stage you just want it over and done with and get back to joyful runs. I feel like that every time I'm training for something and question why I do it and then once the event is over I sign up for another one 🙄

I hope that knee is ok.

in reply toIrishprincess

Thank you ❤️. I suspect I will be the same. I had to defer two races, a 10k and a half, so I’m signed up for next year anyway! 😂

The problem with the knee, because it’s been so badly damaged in the past, if it gets banged it swells and that includes inside. It doesn’t seem as bad today xx
