Follow up appt at the fracture clinic today. Still no sign of healing on the x-ray. Consultant feels the pain is likely still the fracture not fully healed. Referring me for another MRI and then an appt back with him at the fracture clinic, 3 weeks after the MRI date whenever that will be. Given I will be away for two weeks in September, I don't see me running before October. It's already been over three months. Big sigh.
Sitting waiting while they fit two new tyres on my bike - they'll definitely be getting used π₯π₯π₯π΄ββοΈ

Pffft! Sorry to hear this, Linda. Must be so very frustrating. Sending a big hug of sympathy your way.
Maybe in the meantime you will become a pro-cyclist?! (I don't mean to make light of how you are feeling; I too would be gutted not to be able to run β but, please take heart β the cycling will definitely keep you fit until you can run again β I am so in awe of you continuing to focus on your fitness despite the foot set back). It is probably so hard to imagine right now, but the foot will heal, and you will run again. Until then, stay close to us, we will try and keep your spirits up. xxx
Oh no!!! Maybe try the arnica pillules after all? And I massaged arnica gel in every evening too. I know itβs supposed to be for bruising but I figured it couldnβt hurt and made the foot massage easier too. I bet you are so frustrated !! But at least you are getting out and cycling ?? π₯ππ
Decided I couldn't afford tubeless I'm afraid, so I got some puncture resist crosstrail tyres. The old ones were only 30mm, these are 38mm. Feels quite different! Fingers crossed they really are puncture resistant
Brilliant, they sound much better for the kind of stuff you've been tackling! It will feel very different but hopefully it will give you even more confidence on slippery/slidy stuff as the seasons change too! ππ»πͺπ»π
Not sure if it was the tyres or the padded shorts or just that I've toughened up a bit (or most likely all three) - but the tow path felt a heap less painful today than it did back in June
Sorry to hear Linda. However, I am in utter awe of your strength and resilience throughout you injury. Not to mention your astonishing efforts on the bike.
Sorry to hear that π definitely not what you wanted but I second what Sadie-Runs and everyone else says. You are amazing to be keeping up your fitness when many of us would have given in to the couch. You have terrific resilience - and you are really doing the right thing - a few months wonβt seem so bad when you look back but starting too soon could really really set you back long term. Keep us up to date and keep pedalling ππ»π΄π»ββοΈπ΄π»ββοΈπ΄π»ββοΈπ hugs
How frustrating for you linda! I'm so sorry to hear this.
So, so sorry to hear this; what a frustrating journey this has been for you. Thank goodness for the bike. You've even inspired me to want to start cycling again (having given away my expensive hand built to measure Roberts Audax bike!!!). The cycling will keep you fit and strong, and you WILL run again xxx
So sorry to hear that Linda. I can just imagine how upsetting and frustrating your appt must have been. Keep up the cycling and do try not to wreck any more tyres π Big hugs π€
Oh dear π. It will heal but these things take time. Make sure you eat healing grub πππͺπ. Sun on your body while youβre out on your bike will make you feel better and give you a glow. A fillip to your mood too
Have a good sesh on your new tyres. Donβt go mad π
Yes, I can imagine. Good for your positivity which I think helps heal anything Iβm using positive thoughts to heal my dratted psoriasis -which despite lots of jollop is getting worse π€¨. Iβm willing it to bugger off π
You have my sympathies. That's been going on a long time now π₯Ί. I once had an all over allergic reaction (probably laundry powder when I firat moved in with hubby to be π). It was awful! Constant itching 24/7. I really hope you can will it away fast π€
Sorry that you are still unable to run Linda - massively frustrating but as others have said, you are still keeping yourself fit with the cycling π² which is great! I know what it's like to be out for months but try and stay positive because you WILL be back out there and it really does all come back quicker than we think! Take care.πx
Oh bloody hell Linda, what's it doing not healing yet π‘ At least you have your excellent cycling though, you'll have thighs of steel by the time you back to running!
I think I may have pulled it when I was doing some PF stretches last weekend .... I'm hoping it's going to settle down before the MRI, and the MRI show it healed. I keep hoping! Fingers crossed anyway!
I will phone. Only thing is I've no idea where the referral will actually have gone to! The Dr. couldn't tell me when I asked. When I called the hospital on Friday, they said it could take up to a week for a referral request to be processed π - whoever knew computers were so slow!
