HM training week7 day 3

50 minutes in zones 1&2 after a bad night is exhausting! Lack of sleep drives your heart rate up! EVERYTHING drives your heart rate up☹️ Gah! More tiring now I’ve lowered the zones too as I’m having to run slower to stay below 117bpm ...

That is a hard run Flick! And a low bpm! Well done you. It is amazing how so many elements need to be right for us to run easily in a zone. My last run was easy in zone 2 and 3. Today I struggled and was slower! No reason but my body must have one.

At least when you can run in zone 3vyou will enjoy it lol xx

Very very slow to keep in these zones! I LOVED the tempo run the other day, cruising in zone 3! I shall use this training plan for my deferred Blenheim half next year- unless Polar does a running power plan, I might be tempted by that if I can work out what it all means! 😂 xx

Fifty minutes in zone 1 and 2 at such a low HR is impressive...and exhausting. And just when you feel you are getting somewhere you change the HR settings down...Hopefully your zone 3 runs will feel more comfortable now. Doing brilliantly, keep going! It’s nice to have someone on the same week of training xx

Yes, it’s tough staying down in the bottom two zones, but I was struggling to get into 4&5 (I’m running at a lot lower hr than last year for some reason), hence lowering them. This feels about right.

Yes, it’s fun seeing how you’re doing when you post and thank you 😊xx

Very disciplined Flick. I did an easy pace trail 5K but still struggling a bit. Amazing how quick you lose it. Hopefully it will come back just as quick.

I did go over several times!

I felt like you early in the year( well, I said) and it seem d tough to begin with, but I’m fitter than before the injury now

I just cycled in the cold rain and wind. Garmin has given me an extraordinarily low average heart rate. Either I fell asleep part way round, or the cold made a huge difference or maybe the rain caused inaccurate readings? Either way I don't believe it and I'm pretty pissed off at how little effort Garmin says I put in and how few calories it is allowing me for prosecco tonight. Bah! 🤬

Garmin heart rate monitoring is reputed to not be the best. Apparently they are changing it, but probably not for existing watches via software update

in reply tolinda9389

have the prosecco anyway 🤪

I will! I think I put the effort in and that's what counts. Maybe I just won't record the prosecco - if Garmin can lie, so can I 😀. Simple!
