Caught the train up to London this morning for this event - nice to see plenty of other runners on the platform, London Vitality bags on their shoulders (least said about the actual bag drop the better, I thinkπ!) The atmosphere in the runners village was great and despite the huge numbers attending, there always felt as though there was plenty of space. Obligatory, very long and winding queue for the toilet but it did move fast, so can't really complain. My other half was in a different wave to me so he set off to find his spot. I attempted to locate the yellow wave but eventually set off in a mixed wave of almost every colour! Never mind - chip timing will sort us all out at the end, I thought.
The course itself was lovely and a great opportunity for a little sight-seeing! The weather was glorious, although warmer than I expected, so I took advantage of water at every opportunity! Lots of support and a couple of steel bands along the way.
Best bit of the race was the fantastic setting for the start and finish - what's not to love about a finish down Birdcage Walk right in view of Buckingham Palace!
Official chip time of 1:00:58 secs - not a sub 1 hour today but very happy with that all the same!πππ½ββοΈ
Look forward to reading the other Vitality reports.π

Thatβs a great time Sandra!πββοΈπ Iβd be very proud of that.ππ
I was in the βrainbowβ wave too at the start. Didnβt seem to matter by then!π It was very well organised considering the number of entrants and great to see London landmarks from a different angle π
Congratulations Sandra, lovely photo, pity about being 58 seconds over the hour, however, I notice that your split time for 5K was sub 30 minutes at 29.58. Once again congratulations.
Fantastic Sandra, I definitely want to do that one next year! Iβm glad you had a great time and that the weather was lovely. βοΈπββοΈβοΈ
