Today achieved one more milestone - 13k. It was not planned just happened. I went for run on a new route, more than half of that was completely unknown to me. Best thing is - it's not only my longest distance but also longest running duration 1hour 26min, which give me feeling that my HM preparation going in right direction.
Those who are from Glasgow may know about this. I stay in partick, started my run toward SSE Hydro (Exhibition Centre) via riverside museum, I was there many times for IMAX, so was quite aware of route. After that I just ran blindly towards Govan road, plan was to cross through Clyde tunnel and back to home (which is just 1.5km from Clyde tunnel-partick side), so was running and running hoping to find Clyde tunnel which finally I saw after 7km and to my surprise/horror pedestrian walking/cycle route was closed. I went bit near it was showing open but I spooked out just looking at it, completely empty with no exit insight also thought of going under river tunnel alone and encounter with some neds/junkies stopped me, I thought going back via same route means running back 7 more km, I said to myself let's try as much I can run and walk afterwards for home. Somehow slowly slowly I ran back and complete my run till back home and saw mobile showing 13+ km. I was all exhausted, was on floor for 15-20 min to catch my breath back, but after that it was feeling awesome.
I did google about walking through Clyde tunnel and think it was wise decision not to run through it. People had mixed experience, some spooked out, some met with junkies, escaped somehow. Pictures they posted are like from horror movie.
I may try sometime to run/walk through it but only when I'll have some trusted people with me.
