Feeling a combination of excitement and nerves. I am mainly concerned about not getting caught up with the flow and going too fast. I am going to try and take it 5K by 5K. Hoping that the mile markers are clear.

Great strategy! I just did something similar with my first half :)

I've always found it useful to break it up into chunks. Long bike rides are the same.

I'm wary about mile markers, I seem to miss them quite regularly! I've got the Garmin set to give me splits every mile, and I really find that useful. To be fair though, I'm a numbers geek, so it kind of fits! :)
