Good morning good morning good morning good morning!!!
Time to get the cΜΆoΜΆcΜΆkΜΆtΜΆaΜΆiΜΆlΜΆsΜΆ coffee and tea brewed, ready for a nice bit of running chat π
Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week. Please join in the discussion π
If you're new or a lurker this is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.
I had a break from running last week - feeling much better for it, and am looking forward to starting my Half Marathon Training Plan next week!!!
How are you feeling about your running lately?
Have a great week, and enjoy those runs π

Two swims and just one strength last week. I have been checking the weather forecast, and I see that today will be the best day to go for my run this week, because after that we get high winds and torrential rain - yay! π
I'm running down in my car park area while the weather is rainy and windy, but plan to get out as soon as it is dryer, freezing and sunny! I seem to be settling into a 2 x HM jogs plus a long hike per week routine for now.
Roseabi and linda9398 - I'm blushing...- I built up slowly from c25k during 2018, then after my marathon it seemed like a HM "wasn't that far" anymore! It's also a product of having enough time in the week to run for that long to be honest. I'm still undecided about taking a while off and then starting Roseabi's new HM plan but with a focus on speed. We will see though, the long runs do give the advantage of buying lots of booze calorie credits! (I've got a minor drink problem facilitated by a major running addiction maybe?)
I was thinking of a break after my race on 9th December before thinking about a ten mile race in March It would only be a week as I like to keep things moving or I could seize up
I want to do some recce walks for an ultra iβm contemplating. My husband has bought me a Montane Polartec jacket for my birthday to encourage me to clear off into the wide blue yonder. He wonβt be joining me π. I just told him I want to walk a particular route. I havenβt mentioned running, let alone racing it π.
I am still doing the final runs of my marathon plan, which lead me nicely into my next race, a local 10k, my hometown one π
Had a good week post marathon π. No problems thank goodness. Iβve been ravenously hungry π. Off for a run in a mo, after Iβve walked the dog
Have a great week everyone πππββοΈπββοΈ
I've been so stupidly busy at work that running has been relegated to small bits here and there just to keep my legs moving. I'll do a lunch run or two this week but they will be both boring and underwhelming! My mum is coming to stay this weekend too which is lovely but once again will ruin my running plans. Roll on January and February...that's when I get my best running done! For now, I'll just have to keep eating these delicious caramel digestives and dreaming of a time I can fit in longer than a 5k π
Iβm still slowly building up my monthly mileage, running 5 days a week most weeks but did miss an 8k run last week so replaced with some rowing. Managed to knock 30s off my 5k 2 weeks running this month π² so think the increased mileage is helping. Been reading Born to Run, and also listened to some podcasts on Camille Herron - wow what an amazing athlete she is. 100miles per week for 12 years!!
Quite amazing - and thats the average. Itβs more like 120-130 per week now. She likes to break up the runs by running twice a day, and does not normally run more than 2 hrs at a time, apart from when she is competing. She holds the 100mile world record π
Still working my head around this new plan. Not sure if it is the extra mileage or the cold turn in the weather but my pace has said βadiosβ lately. I realize this stage is more about getting distance on the legs so Iβm not that concerned. My weekly mileage is up to 40k from 30k or so prior to my race in late Oct. And Iβve added in more consistent strength work and a tiny bit of pilates (OMG planks!)
Weather turned, enjoying getting out in the rain , perfect running weather! Cold ish, no wind though. Got MK winter half Sunday 9th December so building up to that this week and next
Oh and who knew Black Friday would apply to running? Got a charity place in the Vitality Big Half, for Β£150 instead of usual Β£350 charity commitment! Going to ask family to cover that as birthday presents, so Iβll be there In London!
I LOVE that pic! Id love that in my loo. I am still recovering from my asthma attack but also so pleased i am still on my run streak. I am on the hunt for an enhanced plan for pull ups in a month as I so want it for Christmas but I'm not there yet....
Thankyou, my boy is to thank for that. When I was off sick, every day when he came home from school he took me... just a mile of run walk, and v slow. It did me the world of good to have fresh air too.
I have been following a workout the gym devised me I just havent done it enough!!!! So my goal is to do it 3 times a week. I have also ordered the next size of resistance band as the one I have is too easy now so i guess thats progress. Every time i go to the gym someone is using the bar so i am really desperate to get one for the garden as the doorway one is pants as I have to have bent legs
Been missing the running the past three weeks but physio agreed to let me do 3 races with no running in between... So won't be as fit as I'd like but I will still enjoy it!
Managed my first of 3 races on Sunday (11km trail race) which was beautiful but could tell I hadn't run in 2 weeks...
Doing another sprint triathlon tomorrow and feeling a bit nervous for the mountain bike section of the race... But at least my husband will be there with our newest family member Luna (border collie)
I have only been swimming and diving since the beginning of the month, hope I survive
Last race is a nice flat 10km along Sea Point promenade (19 Dec)
