I just saw an ad on Facebook for this new half marathon. It's in Weston-super-Mare in Somerset, UK - Sunday March 24th, 2019.

The finishing line is to be a quarter of a mile out to sea on the Grand Pier - awesome!!!!

I googled it, as it's one of those places that I am comfortably familiar with...yet I have no idea where it actually is on the map of Britain. And it turns out it's 317 miles away, so off the cards for me too 😂 The main thing I keep thinking about though, what with my experiences of running about on Brighton Pier (as a youth, not as an actual runner!), is crikey, it'll be noisy with all those feet on wood.

Wow, it will!!! At least people will have thinned out a bit at that point.

Another potential snag is, I noticed on their Facebook page that the first of these was supposed to have been in March THIS year, but they had to cancel due to yucky weather 😢

Still, it looks fun - great fish n chips afterwards too!

Ugh, Weston-super-Mare... school PE lessons cross country....the wind! The loose sand ploughing back through the dunes! Yes all part of me not being a runner...

Ex-husband used to drive the Pier train in the school holidays and finishing down the Pier is pretty cool.
