What a contrast from last weeks HM at Peterborough, in the pouring rain...bluerghh......! Role forward a week and beautiful autumn sunshine, and what is this? How on earth did I manage to smile and fly (just a tiny bit, I admit) but the gap between my feet and the ground is there......thing is having now done this event twice before ......I know where the photographers are....😂....very good they are too....I am surprised at how smiley I am though!
The set of photos I’ve got, I’m very happy with, there’s a great one of me coming into the finish, looking not too bad, with a guy motoring down behind me gurning...😂...wouldn’t be fair to put it up as his number is totally clear and he might not like it....😂😱
Had a lovely day though, got a Pb for that course 1hr 08, 2 mins off last years time, caught up with a few parkrun buddies on the way round too.
Happy days, happy running all 🏃♀️

Ha ha, thanks Floss, there was a lovely atmosphere at this one, the photographers are very good, I think they have the cameras permanently on sport mode, you can hear the manic clicking as you go past! 😂 so even if you’re a bit of a plodder like me, there is a point, albeit a nano second, when both feet are off the ground....😂🏃♀️, that’ll do me!
Brilliant... I remember the first photo I saw of you on the forum.. I was in awe then and I still am! I envied those flying feet and when i got one photo of my own..WOW!!!!
Congratulations Madge50 on completing the The Cambridge Town and Gown 10K, in that great time of 1.08, just for a second when I saw Half Marathon next to your username I thought that you had ran a HM in that time, wow, no it was a 10K, still a excellent time, lovely smileing photo of you😀running 🏃
Thanks, oh bless you, Me, a HM in 1hr 08? Noooooooo! My legs have trouble moving at this speed, let alone any faster, they’d break and my hips would just fall apart......😂 that’s more like Mo’s time....🏃♂️ Ha ha ha.....
Beautiful morning though it was, we often had the sun in our faces, so a lot if squinting going on, I was trying hard not too - I just look cross otherwise....😂...
Thanks Sandra, d’you reckon addiction to bling is a thing? .....as well as parkrun......and wobbling around the countryside and all that.....oh dear...😂🏃♀️🏅🤦♀️, no hope for me then....😂
Well....the first one happened before I finished C25K, that was chariots of fire, in Cambridge, teams of 6 each running approx 3k each as a relay.....then once I completed the programme I went to parkrun....(wished I’d gone earlier) ..... and through meeting parkrun buddies......well.....what can I say....it’s their fault....making me believe I could......🤷♀️😂
(It has actually been 3 back to back, a 10 miler, a HM, and a 10k.....I must stress this is the first time this has happened....honest! ....oh and one more 10k in a fortnight......but then that’s it for this year...🏃♀️😂.)
Well you look wonderfully fit and healthy on it! So that says something. I am remembering that I read a previous post of yours where you mentioned the vast number of park runs that you have done. One more 10k, well I hope that you end on a brilliant high. I am still amazed at the one where you were sodden through before you even began! Astounding! Do you and your husband complete most of the races that you enter together?
Thanks, no normally he is a fair bit faster than me (and a lot more competitive, I prefer a bit of sightseeing and a chat 😂) so it’s been quite unusual for the recent 10 miler and HM that we practically went round together.
Thanks miss w, this one is nice, it gives you a taste of what the HM is like as it goes on some of the route, and is really well supported. I really don’t remember feeling that at ease though....but did make a conscious effort to smile! 😂🏃♀️
