You will have read the marvellous reports on the New Forest 10k from SueAppleRun , Dexy5 and linda9389 who are all more efficient than I in writing up the day’s events!
It was fantastic to meet up with VRBs again and to meet Linda’s dad and HappyHays for the first time. This really makes a race extra special and I can’t wait for the GSR to see even more VRBs in person.
We had refreshing rain during the run (I was dreading it being as hot and sunny as the previous days had been). Lots of lovely encouragement from marshalls. I was very amused by a couple of entertainers singing Highway to Hell as I passed them 🤣.
Last year I got some grim blisters as I wore the wrong shoes. This year I had my trail shoes and am thankfully blisterless (is that a word?). My time was 2 minutes faster than last year so all in all a great day 👌🏻

You are so speedy, it was great to catch up with you again and meet the others as well. I really appreciated you all hanging around for ages for me to get round, I will be better prepared next year 😁, wasn't it a great day? In spite of the heat and the humidity and then the rain? Just perfect
Brilliant post and great run Mudita11. A 2 minute improvement is excellent, especially in that heat. A great warm up for the GSR. I will be with you all in spirit.🙂
I hope so. I was pretty sure that this year would not work with our Alaska trip. Add a fall and a few weeks of a worrying (at the time) balance problem it is no surprise that my last long run (Monday) was only 7k. I am back on the NRC HM Plan now, so, northern winter permitting, I should be back up to speed in a couple of months or so. I am enjoying doing intervals 🏎️……………🚓 🙂
Wow, great job finishing faster in those conditions. I know the value of blosterless only too well!!! Dropping from half to 10k I have no blisters, no black toenails, legs don't ache ... bliss 😍Lovely to see you again too 😊
Yes I was umming and aahing about my shoes but glad I stuck with the trails especially when running across the wet grass on the polo field. . Glad the blisters stayed away this time. Well done on your time Mudita11 , and see you again soon.
