Not sure if it was the new shoes or the intervals

But on this mornings hot, muggy run 2pbs occurred (27.33 5k and 56:30 for 10k.) We did 15 in total. Some did much more on their own. I normally fade big time in the heat, but today was different. Go figure. We did run near the water in shady woods for much of the distance so that probably helped. And I drank piles if water this morn. Still could not catch the front runners though. So fast! 😁

Wow! Speed demon! That’s awesome. We really could’ve used a bit of your hot and muggy today. It was cold, windy and rainy. Didn’t have to worry about runners overheating today!

Too bad we couldn’t trade just a bit of each other’s weather today. But it sounds like you made out well in spite if it. No rush I can wait for the report :)

Thanks Ben. These interval Wed nights seem to be kicking in now. Shoes feel pretty good tho!

It is your good work, but I do always feel a bit faster after a pair of shoes. Maybe because of the extra spring you get.

Thanks Tbae. I am not really a natural runner or even remotely athletic. It happened slowly. It took me a full year to get 10k under 1 hr, but trying to keep up with these young ones in the run group has made me faster in spite of myself.

Very well done.πŸ‘πŸ‘

So I have about 3-4 months remaining to knock 20 mins off a 10K.πŸ™ˆand get to the hour.πŸ€”πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

At 75 Decker I can keep dreaming, got to get from 8 mins / km to 6.

Of course pigs can fly.πŸ˜‚

Well it is better than fooling myself with porkies or growing a long nose.πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

You are doing great.πŸ’₯πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ’₯

Keeping bringing the motivational magic.πŸ’₯πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ’₯πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

You are the motivational one here Tbae. I can only hope to be so active at 75. I suppose our own progress comes as long as we keep plugging away at it right?

Plugging away, love that.

Yes Decker that is why I love runners and this forum, just honest endeavour.πŸ’₯πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ’₯πŸ”₯πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦

Well done man. What’s the Saucony’s?

Decker profile image
DeckerUltramarathonβ€’ in reply tomisswobble

Thanks MW. These are Everrun Guide 9s. They felt really good from the start. Like they were already broken in. I tried Asics and Nikes too but there was no contest. I still have mileage left on my last pair but I’m going to use those for the winter snow runs.

My Saucony lightweight racing shoe is surprisingly grippy.
