New shoes need very little breaking in and as they are the same model as your old ones, you won't need time to adjust to any changes either. If it was me, I would start with the two shorter runs. Any issues and you can alternate, but I suspect you'll be able to then go straight to your long run in the new ones. Enjoy!!!
I've never needed to break in a pair of new shoes. Largely this is because Brooks Ghost and Divide are my goto road and trail shoes and they just fit me. There's also the fact that I generally put 500 miles through a pair so by the time I replace them, it's safest to make a clean break. My previous pair of Divides are now enjoying their retirement as a lightweight hiking shoe. I always find the best thing about new shoes is the fact that the extra springiness tends to give me an extra kick of speed, probably because the degradation experienced in my old pair mean I've been working harder to keep the same pace going.
As others have written, there’s generally not a problem switching to new shoes (especially if they’re the same model).
My local running shop advise wearing them around the house first (because they’ll change them for something else if they haven’t been used outside).
Due to bad planning on my part, the first outing for my current pair was at ParkRun and I ran a Marathon in them the following day where they were fine.
The old ones bin you have no grip and it will make you run different and can lead to injury I’m surprised you only got 500k out of them I’m now on my 3rd pair but I do have other pairs in total 7 pairs but all for different brooks launch 8 races and tempo and reps. Brooks divide trail. Brooks Ghost 13 road. Mizuno waveknit S1 road Mizuno wave rider 25 road best ever up to marathon. Adidas Adizero Boston 10 road runs tempo reps races everyday running up to half marathon. More miles fell running and cross country.
Thanks for the replies, I had gait analysis when I bought my first pair. I was told I had a neutral gait but favour one leg. I was surprised as all my shoes wear on the heel
The other shoe still has the blue on. So I think this bear that out.
I have noticed the new shoe bounce. May see about Gait analysis again.
