Trail equivalent of Brooks Ravenna?

I am really enjoying running in my Brooks Ravenna's and have been wearing them off road on my 'trail' runs. However, not sure how they will cope when we have a return to wetter and muddier conditions? Is there a trail equivalent?? My usual trail shoes are Asics Fujitrabuco's, which I have run many a mile in and gone through several pairs. I guess I don't NEED to wear anything else but was just wondering...(any excuse to buy a new pair of running shoes!😉).

Brooks do various trail shoes. I wore my cascadia 8’s to death 😃. Trail shoes are neutral . Brooks do Cascadia, Caldera and Mazama trail shoes.

I’d deffo try them all on 🙂

Thanks misswobble, I know you are a big Brooks fan. I know that trail shoes are generally neutral but the Asics Fujitrabuco is sold as a 'stability' shoe, so I just wondered. Not sure I actual need stability as much as I used to think anyway. Will definately have a look at the Brooks trails I think. Thanks!🙂

It depends too on what your trail is like. Mine is hellishly stony 😫 so. A shoe with a rock plate is called for My gorgeous Mizuno Hyate 3 doesn’t have one, and the big toe area seems unprotected. A stone under your big toe is agony. So I got a pair of half prize Saucony Peregrine and they’re good !

My Cascadia 8s were my most fave shoe. I nearly cried when I had to throw them out 😢

Hi Sandra,

I am a novice, and here is a piece of maybe useless information, and just because both suppliers got mentioned in your post by MW.

After completing C25k went the long trek to nearest UP and Running, Gait analysis, and came home with a pair of Brooks Ravenna 9 and Saucony Everruns, trails.

Of course excellent service, trusted the shop manager, of course they pride themselves in that they are runners themselves.

My strange point to you as a novice that I ended up with two different suppliers.

In fact I do not remember being offered Brooks trails, although I had committed to my Brooks running shoes first.

Should have said, I used my Ravenna’s in the Park for my HM because I thought would offer better support, but for shorter runs in the Park the Saucony’s just feel the business.🤔

Hey, sorry for the ramble, and good luck with whatever you choose.

Have read the expertise and advice on here of so many very knowledgable impressive runners, including you and MW.💥🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️💥
