Unexpected records

Only building to a half with eight weeks to go! Did a long (for me) run on Sunday and then today I did a short 5k. Woke early, but didn't really want to go. Ended up doing PBs for 1 mile, 3k, 3mile, and 5k as well as best 12 minute distance. Not great times but delighted.

Enjoying Desert Island Discs, TMS, and Danny Baker for passing the time. And I'm in beautiful surroundings; but running still isn't addictive though, and it's still a chore.

Hi there!! A massive, cloud-nine welcome to the forum - lovely to see you here!!!!

What a gorgeous photo!!!! And congratulations on your record-breaking performance!!

Good luck with your training - I hope it soon begins to feel less of a chore! We have lots of addicted folk on here to pick up a buzz from 😊

Which half marathon are you working towards?

Thanks for the welcome. Yes I'm lucky to have some cracking scenery to run in, and variety. Poole harbour, Poole Park, and all the surrounding green spaces; if I wanted I could do all my training with a view! I hadn't ever run until I started C25K in April.

The Royal Parks - Oct 14th. 😀

Thanks again for any encouragement

Excellent choice! I've not done that one, but have seen many good reports 😊

Several reasons for wanting to do that as my first one. For one thing by all accounts it's quite flat!

And all my kids live nearby to carry out cheering duties!

Just noticed I wrote 'first one'! Probably a mistake! 🤨

Aha! You're planning to sneak another one in beforehand?

Or should that be 'first of many' 😊

No! But it might be that I do another one - I just need some more motivation after Oct 14th!

Well done for getting out there.

By the sounds of things you have been pusing up and up since you started. Maybe once you get your HM out of the way you just go out for a few weks and run for fun.
