Who Stole The Air?

Here’s the picture of me resting after a run earlier today. Due to lack of proper hydration I have completely melted and may take some time to fill up. I know it’s hot over in the UK but what’s happening here in Croatia is an upgrade of extreme endurance test as there is officially no air available. The lady on the radio just said so, hence we all use the lung storage because the humidity nicked the rest. For the next two weeks l will be known among the locals as ‘silly mister who runs with the snakes’.

You know the amounts of water recommended by Rignold ? We need more. I can’t remember previously downing a litre not long after waking up. The locals know me as ‘silly mister who drinks a lot of water’.

Hahaha, l thank you. A few days ago two cars honked and the passengers in a convertible all pumped their fists as they passed me by. I would like to think they admired my efforts and my discerning dress sense rather than thinking, ‘Jesus, that guy isn’t running uphill in this weather, is he’.....

‘Hilarious’ is the only way l can describe my current position. All l carried on my holiday was a selection of basketball and football gear that l use for running and l immediately succumbed to local euphoria and acquired Croatia national football kit. I know, l know, ‘here comes silly mister dressed up as Croatia forward’. I’m making my mark here.

They certainly know how to party and l gullibly joined in. Of course, l forked out for No10, Luka Modric kit. And, of course, local Nike store knew its value and charged accordingly. I will premier my new look when parading along the Thames in a few weeks although l see myself slotting in here nicely.

Ha ha, reminds me of when me and other half were out running in Bulgaria, on holiday, in the countryside (plenty of snakes there too....) and a group came driving by in a car looking at us like we were completely nuts, they stopped and offered us a lift! Yep, it’s those crazy English....🤪

We, the runners, never seize to amaze the God fearing folk. Where I’m now there is an active running club and some big sport names come from the area so l think I’m getting away with it. I just need to be more selective in choosing my running gear. Last year l wore a yellow LA Lakers kit, like an extra from a B movie but this year, as per the photo, I’m inclined to offer a more sobering image.

Their dogs keep to the shade. They know their chops. What impressed me yesterday was a guy with a bull terrier (on a leash) who slowed down and nodded at me (it’s ok, the dog’s safe kinda look) while l ran past. That felt good!

As they solemnly admit, it’s just a regular summer. Also, seeing my pale legs the mosquitoes just could not believe their luck, I’m feeding the entire generations. But what’s confusing me the most is that nobody’s mentioning the weather, nobody’s altering their plans, people are simply getting on. We would call for an emergency at least, change/blame the government and sue the skies but not here.... Oh well, l better hydrate some more and get on with it.

Mosquitoes make a B line for me as well as tics. I have a pre run Jungle Formula routine now... and thats so true. The ONLY thing people are talking about here is the WEATHER!!!!

I urge you to keep faith, l shall return as soon as tomorrow. Based on hardcore hydration administering as preached by Rev Rignold, my tanks are now full. Snakes, I am back!

Wow you really look like you could use a drink there! Love the gear. Our heatwave has finally broken. We have some forest fires burning a few hours north of us, so it is welcome. Hoping your heat will ease off soon.

I actually don’t mind this, it’s kinda liberating, I move slower and have discovered more philosophical aspects of my inner self. Or maybe I’m simply going crazy while roasting slowly.
