Does tapering need to be two weeks or just one? I ask because I missed my Saturday long run and then we just got a big ice storm with up to 100km winds, so long running is out until at least Tuesday, leaving me with just a week before 2 wks of tapering starts. HM Race day is May 6. I need to do my two last long runs still. My plan was to do 18k on Tues then 5k on thurs and 18 on sat then 2 week taper. Does that seem right?

Just stick to the 18km on the Tuesday and 5k then an easy run on Saturday. I don't see what you would gain in doing one more 18km on the Saturday.

I don't taper much for an HM, so I think 1 week will be fine if you want.

Due to injury I only did my longest run one week before my HM. There is no hard and fast rule for this. Listen to your body. Just don't push yourself too hard.
Good luck with your HM tomorrow - will think of you doing yours whilst I’m on my 10k. Have a great run!
