Hello everybody. I hope you are having a good new year?Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week.
If youre a lurker it is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.
Wishing you all a happy and healthy week,

Am keeping a food diary (annoying), and trying to up my protein intake (difficult). Ho hum! So far it appears that my diet is high fat high carb
I am working through some shoe issues. I may have sorted out my swimming goggle issues. Curse all the stuff. I have had a bit of a running stuff clear-out though
I did a lot of strength training and running last week, plus a bit of swimming. I am pleased. I am hoping for more of the same this week, although the weather forecast is frightful...
1. you do not have to listen to ju-ju- although i that might be dangerous. Just pretend your doing them.
2. it is the way to go with my fried chicken
3. what ones you get? i am rather fond of my Zoggs Flex Preditor's, i did have some prescription Aqua Sphere Eagles, but lost them not as comfy as the zoggs but at least i could see.
They are Zoggs Predator Flexes, and so far so good, although it took me quite a while to get them adjusted properly. I hate goggles, they give me nothing but trouble!
1. Managed to start my marathon training with my first longish run of 15km wasnt sure how far I could go as haven't run over 10k in ages. Could have gone further but need to have a shower before picking kids up from nursery. Not sure they would want a sweaty man wearing tight-fitting tights turning up.
2. My promise of a better diet after christmas has failed. Must get on this as need to be lean and mean.
3. Strength training that i was going to do every day after new year. Failed!
4. Going to try and run loads more this week.
5. But i have entered a 50 mile challange in 3months. Halfway there so be good to get to 150 miles in 3 months.
Good luck with the protein Roseabi. I can eat more protein no problem
I make fruity cottage cheese jellies I hate cottage cheese but that’s a pudding and it’s lush Give it a biccy base and it’s a cheesecake 😋 Greek yogurt is good too and a dollop on your muesli or fruit is a good way of getting more protein in. Chocolate avocado mousse is so lush I can’t tell you I don’t like avocado but I like choc mousse 😋 Extra cheese on your jacket potato chilli 💪
Then there’s always eggs I just had two on wholemealtoast for breakfast 🍳
Eggs is what I'm doing more of, although they don't seem to amount to much! Cheese is my main go-to, although it is the reason why the fat count gets so high I'm afraid I can't cope with the smell of Greek Yogurt, I have tried... MMmmmmmmmmmm chilli
I really struggle to get my meat in. So yesturday I went out aiming for liver but ended up with burgers, ham, bacon, sausages and black pudding which I will eat for tea tonight
I have just been having a look at my MyFitnessPal results and I'm not doing as badly as I thought for protein - at least according to the theory of about 1g per kg of body weight anyway. I'll have to wait and see if there are any actual gainzzzzz in terms of being stronger, running further etc...
I’ve never noticed a whiff coming off me Fage 😁. Bury it in fruit and a bit of honey 💪. I put some crunchy grape nuts on top. it’s like having an ice cream
My half mara training is going well. I pulled in a 10k race yesterday which went well
I have entered another marathon too but not started a plan for that yet
Got loads of races organised so plenty of training on the cards. Going for a health check at the gym tomorrow and then I can have the induction day and the free hour with the personal trainer. Ooooooh get me! Never set foot in a gym. My husband got it me for Christmas 🎄 💪🏃♀️👍
I'm finally back doing my strength training. And weird things have happened to my mind! I have an Apple Watch and decided to complete all my rings last month. That means, I had to be upright for a certain amount of time for 12 hours out of the day, I had had to elevate my heart rate through some form of exercise for at least 30 minutes, and I had to burn a fixed number of calories every day (you set your goal once a week). It went well, and I've kept doing it. On Sunday I thought, I can take things easy today. A rest day is allowed, isn't it? Oh no! said my mind. And forced me onto my bike for an hour. So I guess I'm technically on day 45 of an exercise streak.
I've been asked to join the run director squad for the Oslo park run. The thing is, we haven't had parkrun for a month now. It was cancelled twice because of ice, and now the City of Oslo seems to have forgotten that we use the park, and they've cleared a skiing track on part of our route. If this is part of a free skiing school initiative I was reading about, that means that the track will be there for the next month. So who know when we'll get to have parkrun again. I can't deny that I'm glad I'm not one of the people who has to deal with this right now.
Still chugging away slowly. Started my new Asics plan with some long runs dropped in, so apart from 7s and 5s, I got my final 17 in last week. Our family was down with the stomach flu over the weekend, with my turn on Sunday. Good times! I am just getting back into it today with an easy 5 and it felt pretty good.
