Hello everybody , how are you all? This is the place to share your news and running gossip!
I think we have all done so well with training and racing in this wild weather we should give each other a panther hug
Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week. Please join in the discussion
If you're new or a lurker this is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.
Have a great week, and enjoy your runs

I did my longest training run last week, battling the Storm! What doesn't kill you makes you stronger... So, now in taper mode, very nice π Hungry π€I've got 13K on Tuesday for your 650th, Ju π
It was one of those work days where I pressed a couple of buttons and then had to wait an hour for the programme to exportβfor five different episodesβand during that time I browsed around the Internet and somehow booked myself onto Edinburgh half next year. It leaves from my doorstep, it would be daft not to really. Almost went for the marathon because it's out and back along the coast and it would have saved me a bus trip, but my pal would be cross if I ruin our triumphant joint effort in 2020! So just halves till then. No more booking things for a while now though, it's asking for trouble! Also, I don't really like big events so I'm an idiot. I just get carried away π
Loving the panther hugs π€. On Sunday I went for my longest run to date 13.1km. Canβt quite believe I ran a little over 8 miles. Thatβs just crazy!! π― I am in βtrainingβ for my first half marathon, the BathHalf, in March next year, so all is going well π. Just getting ready to go out for a breezy 5k. Loving the cooler weather for running but not liking the wind!! π¨. Happy running everyone πββοΈπββοΈ
Tapering this week. Got my pace a shade faster on Saturday but had some impact pain in my left leg during yesterdayβs short run which I could not quite fully shake. Rested today. May need to rest it tomorrow too. No stormy rain here, just cold. But it may warm up to 10 degrees for Sunday if the weather stays true.
Happy to report just back from a 7 mile run My schedule after the month of no running was way too conservative it turns out Lots of walking on the trip plus the "reserve" in the Running Bank are seeing me pretty happy about being able to run all ten miles on November 3rd
And - it's sure looking fantastic for the Giant's Causeway Meet, lots of interest and firm commitments to making it happen
Anyone else thinking of Tent camping for the weekend? π
All the recent posts about MAF got me wondering what sort of speed I need to run to keep at a proper aerobic rate. I do slower running occasionally, but I've never properly stuck to my aerobic zone. So I took myself out at lunch to find out π Cor it was quite tough. Slow running is hard on the calves, and also hard on the image as everyone you know overtakes you π I sped up at the end because I needed to get past a news reporter before he went live for the lunchtime bulletin. 'Two minutes till you're on air!' he cheerfully shouted at me as I approached, very slowly. So I picked up the pace there π
I am dealing with a cold and what it seems to be a beginning of a chest infection. I haven't been running almost all week, hopefully i will recover soon
