Please feel free to share your runs here and chat about how it's all going,

Sometimes we don't feel like putting a whole post up but just want to share something small, so this is a great place for doing that during the week.

If youre a lurker it is a great place to say a little hi without the pressure of a full post.

Wishing you all a happy and healthy week,

Juju and Realfoodieclub

:)

I did the Yorkshire 10 mile race yesterday.

It's held together with the York Marathon (my first, in 2015) and I had really looked forward to meet a group of people from the beyonders FB group (including our very own turnturtle ), but sadly I was faffing a bit too much before getting out of the house, so by the time I got to the agreed meeting point by the bag drop they had met and moved on.

I had decided to treat the race as a "practise run" for the Thames Path HM in 3 weeks' time. I want to attempt a 2 hr time there. So far I've managed 9 + 3 km (with recovery between) at "race pace" for that, so it was with some nervousness that I decided to run the 10 miles at that pace, which would mean completing in 1:31 or less. I needn't have worried. Something magical had happened to my legs, and whereas I'd been sore and tired after my intervals on Thursday evening, they just moved relaxed and comfortably at a constant pace, and I finished in a confidence-boosting 1:28:29.

That's brilliant, Tomas , well done! Although can I point out that nothing magical happened to your legs. You put the training and the hard work in and they responded appropriately, carrying you round in a great time :)

Well done good work that 2hr time is yours for the taking, you have done the training and the hard work now you can go out there and get a great time.

Just pace your self evenly and speed up at the end if you have anything left when I did my sub 2hr half earlier in the year, I didn't have anything at the end but you're different you stronger! Grrrr!

That's really speedy. You're certainly on track for an excellent time.

Amazing work, Tomas! I did the 10 mile too but not nearly so quickly - and I actually owe you a massive thank you because back in August, when I was wondering whether I could possibly be ready in time, you convinced me to go for it. So thank you! πŸ‘

Saturday sounds hardcore, after a Friday like that. Impressive!

Hope it all goes well, and then of course after this you've got the lovely taper to look forward to, with loads of spare time suddenly appearing out of nowhere. Have a wonderful last-hard-week!

yea Friday beer thing is with people from parkrun so we all agreed that we would still all turn up to parkrun and then the wedding is also two people from parkrun as well.

I feel sorry for the people who have signed up to the Maidstone half as well who are doing Friday night and then going to the wedding! at least I am not running it. But I will try my hardest to put on my cheering face on.

Well, at least the happy couple can understand it if people fall asleep during the speeches *lol*

I agree. Running a HM the day after a wedding party sounds like a tall order as well.

Thanks Ju and RFC

Still plugging away with training runs but have had a few days off. I have been cross training though by getting down and dirty on my plot. Lots of clearing and hard physical work so burning some calories. I might go for a short jog later

I'm back in Oslo. Went for a 6K run in London yesterday morning, and have decided to be sensible and drop this week's long run, and let my body recover from the weekend. I'll stick to the shorter runs that have been scheduled, though.
