I did a fast 5k today and it felt good to push it. I am looking forward to a month of intervals. I blasted the cobwebs away with Moby on full fettle in my ears!!

Attached is my Strava suffer score just to prove I had gain pain ( do you like my new phrase??)!!!

Well done! You did put your muscles through a strong training session :)

It's great to push it every now and then especially if you feel well during and after :) (no worries pain will settle in and tomorrow you'll probably discover muscles you did not remember you had (this happens to me every time I push a bit more the pace ;) )

I like your new phrase, but my motto for September will be "pain to gain" Planning a month of intervals as well :) see you at the end of the tunnel then

enjoy :)

nope... I have heard of it but I not as technological as many of others in this forum... What is it? a community./log tool?

I get as far as planning my runs, training plan, courses map online and keep a profile with a log (with distances and where I ran, but updated by hand):

runningahead.com/logs/ba66e...

I never run with GPS or other tech... I will check it out...

I will write about this (I hoped to do it today but became pretty busy...). I have a past as a teenager runner, but then stopped and got fat for years. 3 years ago I started again, but I also gained weight. My highest weight was at 96 (BMI obese) at beginning of summer. In July I started to look at calories and dropped 10 kilos so far (need to drop 20/25 kilos...)

With that came speed (the muscles were carrying around way too much weight...). Indeed in June I was running at an average of 8:30 min per mile, July was just ridiculous with 205 miles (most I have ever run in a month) at an average pace of 7:55 (fastest I have ever run for a month, but August went even better with 7:49...)!

I have plan for next year and Hope to share training, results and possibly tips :) And I love this forum for this :)

enjoy your running, if I have learnt something from this sport is that you should never compare with others, always have fun and try to improve yourself (not necessarily always your times :)

It turns out .. I have a profile, but I have never used it. Probably when I was looking for tools online I checked it but I found runningahead simpler to use without mobile and gps data.

the two sites do not speak so I cannot export/import, which means for the moment I will stick with what I have... but maybe in the future ...For the moment I'll follow and give updates on this forum :)

I saw your run on strava the 1st 1km was ok (it was up hill) but then you really sped up on the last 4km! very impressive times. My thing for September is run further!

but i what i was more jealous about was you ran around something called Cadbury hill!

I like your plan, and yes even my gym is called, Cadbury gym' if only they gave out chocolate in the classes!!!

## You might run on for a long, long time

Run on, ducking and dodging ##

That's an awesome pace JJ for a 5km run - I reckon about 5'10 per kilometer. Intervals are going to speed you up even more. You're going to be an ultrarunner, and you are going to be a fast ultrarunner.

Thankyou... I am still hoping for a sub 2 hour half soon which is why i am pushing for the target 5 and 10k times... not there yet but another 1.5 minutes off my times and I will be !!!!

That's a great run! Speedy! Sometimes it's 'fun' to really push those legs a bit, but I must admit my run yesterday which was supposed to be fartlek turned into a nice steady run because I just couldn't get my legs to speed up!

I think you have to feel good to do either a tempo or interval runs because it really takes it out of you!! I should have done intervals earlier today but I don't feel in the mood, so I will go out for a plod later ( day off work today, yippee!!). Well done on your run though, you got out which is the main thing!!!

Hi how are things? is September gain pain proceeding well?

My pain to gain is started today with 8X400 mt. strong (1:20 each!) with 200 mt. jog for recovery and it feels like a truck just drove over me...
