I was really supposed to do a long run of 14K today but was staying with my second boy in Leics and he was doing the Bradgate Cross Country Run so I decided to join him. There were 3 options of 5,10 or 15K and knowing it was hilly I decided to opt for the 10K option. However I had no idea HOW hilly! In the end I cried enough after 1 circuit of 5K as I felt I was in serious danger of injury if I ran another circuit if too tired to concentrate on the very rough and slippery going. However it was a good workout and I enjoyed running with Tom (by which I mean seeing him at the start and finish). Also it reminded me of the razzmatazz of a race. 41 minutes, which considering I walked up half of the hills surprised me. I wasn't even last! The long run will have to be done midweek now. I see thunderstorms are forecast though:-(

Brilliant picture! Wish I could persuade my second boy to run, he's got just the right build. Lovely running with your son and you both look very proud of each other!

Thanks JSK. They persuaded me rather than the other way round but they do encourage me to keep going!

Hills make you stronger! Well that's what they say. I love doing parkrun with my son each Saturday (although this Saturday he wasn't so good) can't wait till my 1year can do Junior parkrun!

Well done TT! Cross country runs are so tough, especially hilly ones.
