Got back from a few days camping down in Dorset yesterday. We had a fantastic time and husband and I managed to get out for an early morning run midweek too! I just wanted to share a few photos (which I actually took the day before whilst out walking and checking out the potential run!). I don't run before breakfast usually, so had a quick half an Alpen bar before we headed off on to the South West Coast path. Ran from our campsite and up on to the cliff tops for a wonderful and massively 'undulating' run! This was a tough route for me and I have no shame in having to walk on several occasions whilst negotiating multiple styles, uneven wooden steps and many uneven, hilly grassy slopes and footpaths! It was however, absolutely without doubt, the most stunningly beautiful place I have run with views to die for!! We ran out and back, just short of 5k in total but I think all the hill work made it feel like a lot further!!
Long run day tomorrow...I will keep it flat, I think!๐

A very special part of the country Sandra. I just love walking along that coastal path to curdle door. Well done on running it before the hordes of hikers got out.
Oh that looks stunning! I visited Cornwall (and walked a bit of the SW Coast Path) and absolutely fell in love. Dorset is definitely next on my list of places to go. Well done on your run, Sandra - sounds thrilling! ๐๐๐ x
That looks lovely Sandra!๐ Sounds like hard work but very rewarding to run there ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ Iโll be down in (hopefully sunny) Dorset in a couple of weeks so looking forward to getting out there when I can๐ค The only thing Iโve insisted Iโm doing is Weymouth Parkrun๐๐ My friend Carole is not a runner or early morning person so I can get out while sheโs still asleep ๐ด as long as I donโt wake her dogs up!๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ
Hoping to head to Dorset in a couple of weeks on holiday! Looks beautiful...hopefully get a few runs in whilst I'm there. Hoping to finish week 9 before then !!!
Depends what you like doing - miles of wonderful coastline to walk, Lulworth Cove/Durdle Door, Swanage steam line, Bovington tank museum, Tyneham (village taken over by army for training during WWII, villagers never able to return), Weymouth, Studland Bay. We always stay at Rosewall Campsite in Osmington Mills (a short stroll from the Smugglers Inn pub!). Enjoy your stay.๐๐
Ahh, lovely photos! I know that area very well having lived in Dorset for many years and more recently near Dorchester ๐The Jurassic Coastline is certainly very steep in places so well done! ๐
