I posted on here a couple of days ago with a link for posting your events... Whoops that was only for administrators!!! ( I'm a newbie so learning the ropes still)....
So, if you have a race, event or anything ( even your wedding?!!!) that you would like support for, cheering on etc etc then please reply here with the details or message me and I will add them on π
Hi there, I need a lot of positive vibes and cheering on next Saturday for the Northumberland coastal trail half marathon along the fields (=grass), dunes and sandy beaches from Craster to Bamburgh Castle please. It will be a long day as I need to register at the finish around 09.15, then hop on the bus to the HM start line for the start at 10.45. We are driving up to my father in law's house in Durham the night before, but I'll have a 2 hour drive on the Saturday morning, so allowing for breakfast of porridge pot and green tea, I'll have to get up just after 6 am. And then I have to drive back after the race of course. The plan is to go out with family in the evening though - looking forward to that large glass of wine and pasta dish already.
That sounds really exciting... I have added you on and will be cheering!! I've also asked admin to fix as I want the events to appear chronologically so yours should be at the top but for some reason it isn't.... Pasta dish sounds the business!!!
My event is the London Marathon (April 24th) which I am running in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) which funds research into a cure for Type 1 diabetes. I have never run a marathon before, and cannot quite believe I will!
I am pretty sure everyone has the I cant do this feeling, I certainly have that feeling as my first marathon is coming up. But I just think where I have come from and the doubt I had I could even run 5km when i first started, and here i am having run 5km in 23 minutes (I still dont believe it!) and that gives me hope that there is no reason why we cant all run a marathon even if it takes us 6 hours even if your last who cares your be a marathon runner.
And sounds like your doing it for a pretty good cause, I am doing Brighton for myself although I have thought about doing a sponsorship.
Yes you are right benwill, I have to remember the first half marathon I did, and how I couldn't believe I would actually manage that - and now I have done 5! Ran 19.5 km this morning, legs tired but ok. Good luck with your marathon!
Did another 30-20-10 interval session tonight - thanks for the info about this!
Hi juicyju - could you add my 'Exeter Age UK 10k' onto the events (20th March). It's only a little one compared to all your HMs and marathons, but its my first proper race (barring some Race for Lifes etc) so I might need a waving pom pom or two !
Hi everyone, only two confirmed races for me at the moment, the Great Manchester in May & the Great South in October. I'm running in these with other c25k members, hopefully a few more will join us on the day for a get together and chat. Happy running everyone.
Feel a bit out of place here amongst the HM and marathons! It is my first ever race - 21.5 10k Frauenlauf Berlin. Hoping I don't make a complete fool of myself. Can you add me in please, JJ? Then I know I can't chicken out.
thanks Rob, you will be BRILLIANT i can feel it in my bones!
Just read a snippet in my magazine that says stand in superman pose , hands on hips and chest out, for a sec gives you confidence at the start of a race!!
I have just entered the Dublin half marathon on August 7th. If I flop in this the Berlin marathon is off. Got the collywobbles already! Oh, also doing the Vitality London 10K next weekend. Anyone else doing it?
Paul, Boz , Frank (visiting isle of wight) and I are doing the Nettlestone RAT (road and Trail) 5 mile run this coming Sunday 18th Sept. Can we be added on ??
I.m doing (walking) the London Shine Marathon night walk on Saturday 25th September and then the Great West Half on October 16th (proving the ankes have held up!)
Hi ju-ju- I am doing the Aarhus City Halfmarathon on June 11th 2017 (my first HM). Will you add that to the race calendar? I need all the support and cheering I can get!
