my answer to this is no - unfortunatley. I am being treated for diabetic macular oedema and the laser and avastin injections(10) in the worst eye have proved unsucessful in stopping an increase of fluid in the macula of my left eye. i am now waiting to see if I will be offereg Lucentis. my vision as of May 11 (in my left eye) when treatment started was 6/9 now it is 6/48.as of 1 st November 2012.

Absolutely not here either. I have had a total of eight Lucentis injections since February 2012, and a course of PDT, yet the leakage in my right eye continues. My consultant admits he is firefighting right now, continuing with the Lucentis on the basis that the legion in this eye is at the extremes of the aggressive spectrum and without the treatment it's likely that my vision would be even worse than it is now. To say that it's depressing is an understatement...

I was diagnosed with Wet MD in my right eye (Juxtafoveal CNV) in Feb 2012 (I was 45 yrs old... my age has had a bearing on the result of my treatment) I had 3 injections of Avastin and not only did it stop the bleed, but I've gone from 'legally blind' back to 'Normal vision'. The condition is stable and I haven't had another injection in months. I don't go back for another check up for 4 months now.

So I've been more than happy with the treatment and the results. I'm just happy that my Primary Care Trust use Avastin and treat as many people as possible,
