Hi All. I have been experiencing a really fast flickering in the central vision of my right eye. I liken it to a fast signal light flashing. I have had it a couple of years now but can't seem to get any answers from my retina specialist as to what it is. I have Wet AMD in both eyes and been getting Eylea inections for about 6 years now. Started when I was 62. I also noticed in the last few months that I am seeing wavy lines in that eye also so it seems the Eylea is not working as well. I am hoping to change to Vabysmo. Has anyone else experienced this fast flickering in their central vision and got a diagnosis? Thanks.

Central Vision Flickering
Hi, your issue is similar to mine except I am much older (86). I get injections in both eyes every 7 weeks and on the last visit 11-2-22. I asked my optholmalogist about the flickering lights. He wasn;t concerned and said that it wasn't a retina tear
Thanks so much for the reply.
I have some flickering - not in the middle of the central vision but to the side. That eye has some fluid under the retina though it's not wet AMD - but I also have the same distortion of lines. I'm 41 and that eye has reduced vision. My guess is that the flickering is where there is some fluid movement.
I experience flickering in my left eye when I go out into bright light but it then settles down as my brain ignores it. I developed wet AMD in 2020 and have been having eyelea injections since then. The injections lessen the distortion (wavy lines)as they dry up fluid but have no affect on the flickering. I think the flickering is due to permanent damage as I was initially diagnosed as having CSR and did not start injections for a few months. I still have clear vision but feel like I am using fewer pixels as some have been damaged.
