has anyone had cataracts removed with macular oedema. If so did it help your sight and also was it painful?

I had cataracts removed from both eyes with quite bad myopic macular degeneration and raised intraocular pressure.

Not fun but not painful. I was surprised how much it improved my sight, it seemed worth pwhile for me.
