AMD I have had 2 eyelea injections and have been told I need a checkup in 5 weeks but not a third injection. I have anterior uveitis which is quiet right now and had 3 initial eyelea injections in 2015 followed by a fourth a few months later but nothing since. I’m not complaining about not getting an injection but thought the 3 loading doses were standard or does this still count as part of the last treatment despite a six year gap or has treatment just changed. Many thanks

2 eyelea injections?
Hello Jbenson,
Were the Eylea injections for wet AMD? If so, yes, individuals are usually giving an initial loading dose of 3 injections. A six year gap in injections would normally mean that this initial loading dose of 3 applied again.
It would be worth ringing your ophthalmologist, via their secretary, to clarify why they are not giving you a third injection.
Kind regards,
Rosalyn

Yes they were for wet AMD. I was concerned as I haven’t seen a consultant at all. I was referred for first injection by Dr in ophthalmic casualty clinic and then straight in for injection. At the second injection I was seen by 2 people one of whom was the nurse who used to do my injections, I was all a bit jokey and informal and oh aren’t you luck not to need anymore injections. Thank you I will take your advice.
