Hopefully no more injections 😃

So 12 months ago I was referred to Opthalmology after an opticians appointment and had a macular oedema in my left eye. I saw a consultant and he said brvo. After a short time I started receiving lucentis injections. I dreaded these as always had such bad after effects. I would be climbing the walls with pain all night after, we tried omitting iodine but made no difference. I often came to this site for advice which helped me so much with your kind comments. I decided that I would embark on losing some weight and getting fitter as this may have contributed. Anyway to cut a long story short I saw my consultant this week and he said my eye looked normal and I needed no more injections. I have to have a check up in 3 months but crossing everything I will continue being ok. I just wanted to share this with you all and I cannot stop smiling. Apologies for the long post and thank you once again for the support x

Fingers crossed for you that you don’t need any more. I went without for 6 months as mine had improved and am now going to have laser treatment as it means I won’t need injections as often

Getting fitter and eating healthier may not be the reason but I feel better so will continue to do this. I wished I’d asked more questions but was so excited I just said I could hug him and left as soon as possible. I just hate the after effects I have after injections so much, so crossing everything x

I lost 4 stone and now eat low carb and walk a lot so I am a lot fitter but have polymyalgia rheumatica so am on steroids long term that don’t help my blood sugars. I hope you don’t need injections but if I do so be it. My steroids gave me type 2 and I think I got macular oedema because I dropped my hba1c too quickly just wanting to get my diabetes into remission which it has been for nearly 4 years. Such is life. Good luck to you
