My 5 months break from injections has come to an end.

Hi all.

Saw my consultant today. He found that my scan revealed some fluid again, though the eye pressure was ok. I can't say I was surprised as I was sure there had been a change in my vision. So now I am going to have 3 more injections at 6 weeks intervals. I'm having the jitters already at the thought of it. Hopefully I will get another break after the loading doses. I am grateful to our eye clinic and I still consider myself lucky as the eylea worked well for me the first time round and I guess it will work again.

My best wishes to all you wonderful people on this forum.

sorry you have had bad news it's a shock even if you were half expecting it. I have been very lucky and have been over a year since my last injection but the fear of it's return Is never far away. I wish you the best of luck it really is a club none of us want to be a member of.

Thank you, jbenson. I am glad for you that you are having such a long break. Long may it continue! Still, I rather put up with the injections than facing the alternative.

Good luck!

Hello Ayayay, sorry to hear you are in for more injections. As you rightly say, rather put up with the injections than facing the alternative. After loosing central vision in one eye, I will do anything I can to save what is left of the other. I will welcome the injections if they will do the trick. Unfortunately, Eyelea does;t appear to have worked for me. Good luck and best wishes.

Thank you, Bobbie. So sad that eylea didn't work for you. Odd that it should work for one person and not for another. I suppose we are all different and perhaps it depends on the underlying eye conditions and on how far the AMD is advanced. I have already been told by my consultant that my vision is going to get worse in time, but for now I am lucky; it's not too bad.

Indeed, take care of your remaining sight as far as you can, Bobbie, and good luck.

Ah ayayay, rotten luck x fingers crossed the next set of inj do the trick x

Thanks eyesright. Hope the injections will work again as they did first time round. How are you doing with your implant? Has it made things better for you?

All the best x

Hi, ayayay the implant is working so far. Same results as inj. The key review is the next one in 8 weeks - inj never made it that long......

I'll post once I know x
