I have been going for injections for about 2 years now for diabetic macular oedema. Just under a year ago I was changed from Lucentis to Eylea. Since then I have been having appointments every 2 months. When I went for my appointment in November I was told that my eyes had stabilised and so I didn’t need injections then. Today I went fir my appointment and was told that there was an improvement again so no injections today. The opthamologist said he thought it was because I had been controlling my cholesterol, my blood pressure and my diabetes well. I said I had been doing that for a good while and he said it takes time to show the improvement. My next appointment is in another 2 months so we will see how things are then.

So pleased for you. So if you live extra carefully, does it mean degeneration slows down?
My injections of Avastin are for wet AMD. I had it in my right eye and after 2 years - it worked, then only 4 times a year for "maintenance." I now have it in my left eye. But, my point is - Isn't it the most thrilling experience to go to an appointment and they tell you you do NOT need an injection?
