Hi everyone I suffer from AMD and am currently having Eyelea injections at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital Eye clinic.
I was worried about going to the hospital because of covid however I went putting on my face mask and headed into the clinic.
I was met by 2 nurses who asked me to wash my hands and replace my mask with one of theirs, they then checked my temp and asked various questions regarding my health and status, I am shielding which is why I was so worried about going to the hospital.
The waiting rooms were allmost empty with strict social distancing all staff were masked and gloved etc and very carefull with the everything they did.
I ended up having my 12th injection after the scan showed a increase in fluid .
I am not worried now to go to future appointment as safety is exceptional.
Just thought I would let others know that it is safe to go for appointments.

That is brilliant bajowill, I'm really pleased for you. It's good of you to share this too, as Becky has commented already, people will appreciate it. xx
Yes, i had a very good experience last Friday, very well organised, only about five of us there, so no problems with distancing, had injection, and absolutely first class treatment.
Thank you for sharing bajowill. I went for my third lot of bilateral injections yesterday and the safety precautions were up by several notches. Like you I was masked and hand sanitizer on entry and everyone wore masks which you don’t notice after a while. It seems obvious to me that the reason there are more precautions now is that the masks etc are now available whereas they weren’t before & probably not because it is more risky. Nevertheless I have always been impressed with the safety that was in place and very very grateful to be able to have the treatment.
