Hi all ..Im in lockdown in Australia ..so going to regular optometrist is a bit difficult atm ...Im not sure if this is an emergency or not . Last couple of weeks when Ive gotten up at night my left eye sight has been very dark ....the right seems ok ...i can see portions around this dark area ...also experienced a change in colour in that eye at these particular times too...pinky colour ....its not there in daylight ...Ive noticed over last couple of years that my night vision has been poor and my eyes have problems adjusting to dark rooms ...I get halos too at times ...night driving isnt as easy as it used to be ..Im a 48 yr old female with short sightedness since 11 yrs ..my cousin has AMD...should i seek help immediately ..please advise
Advice needed please: Hi all ..Im in... - Macular Society
Advice needed please
Sounds like a cataract to me, check by closing each eye separately in daylight, is there one brighter or more dull?
Always best to get eyes checked out though - can you call and ask if they want you to go in to em? If cant get through err on the side of caution but follow stay safe advice.
Hi ...they are the same ...thank you though for replying so quickly
I will consider ringing after the Easter break..yes.
I would at least phone a and e and ask advice. Sounds like you are worrying and need to check things out with expert. As eyesright says, it could be a cataract though I just had misty vision. No colours. Hope you get on ok.
You should call to get an appointment for an evaluation. I saw those halos, too, before I had my cataract surgery. Please see an ophthalmologist or retinal specialist soon as you can.
Ty ..yes I will follow it up
Just thought Id keep you up to date ...Ive contacted my optometrist for an urgent care appt.
Hi there, If you are seeing halos it could in indicate you have developed Glaucoma in which case you need to see your consultant without delay. Regarding thedark patch in the middle of the eye and seeing around the perimeter, I also have this effect in my right eye and it is dry AMD. I have wet in the left eye and my night vision has changed so much I can't drive where there are no lights, so I don't! Please on't delay, lockdown or not! Your sight is precious.
