I am wondering whether to attend my local hospital for eye injections ? I am worried about catching this bug if I do? Any advice please?

Hi Isabella. We are probably all worried about that but I for one will want my injection done. Whether I will be able to get it is another thing. As you are apprehensive, maybe you could try to contact your hospital and ask their advice. Other than that, I don't know what to say.

Hi Isabella. I am sorry that there is no way that any changes to the system can be arranged.

I too have an injection tomorrow , I rang to find out if they are carrying on with the

arrangements. I was told "BUSINESS AS USUAL" I have to attend regardless. I am 78 yrs

I have to face the music.

Best of luck to you.

Don't be shy. . . .

Use a mask or respirator if you have one. . . .

Use the stairs, not the elevator. . . .

If waiting room is packed, wait in the hallway. . . .

If you are under 70 and not otherwise health compromised I wouldnt worry. For most folk, like flu, its nasty but not deadly. It can be mild too. Many more have survived than died. The government precautions are more about reducing potential burden on nhs of lots of poorly folk than worry that it's going to kill us all. Though obviously limiting spread also helps keep at risk folk safer.

If you fall into the at risk category then take sensible precautions as advised by the nhs re handwashing, keeping distance etc. Only you can decide if the inj are important enough to you but I will definitely be attending my appts unless my clinic cancel. I wont be using public transport though but if I had to I'd wear gloves/ cover hands whilst onboard then remove and hand gel/ wash my hands before touching anything else ( bin or wash gloves too once home!).
