I had my first Ozurdex implant almost 3 weeks ago and its still floating about in my vision. Its driving me crazy at times and is so distracting. My optician says he isn't too familiar with these implants and he can see a small threadlike floater, which I reckon must be the implant. If it is a floater, it must have been caused by the procedure, but its not like an ordinary floater which usually isn't as distracting as this. Has anyone else had the problem where the implant never settles down, or at least takes quite a while to settle? If this isn't going to settle, I can't wait for it to start dissolving and go away!! I do hope it isn't a floater as I'm imagining this being with me indefinitely. My follow up is in 2 weeks and I'm hoping to get answers then, but in the meantime, would love any reassurance from anyone who has had experience of this or knows anything about this annoyance. When can I expect to see this getting smaller (if indeed it is the implant). I'm pretty certain it is the implant as its a rodlike shape which I saw as soon as it was implanted. Thanks so much for any suggestions and hopefuy reassurance.

Good Morning kateanne,
Have you rang up the eye clinic to discuss your concerns? If they feel it necessary, they will ask to see you sooner to make sure everything is ok!
Best Wishes,

Hi Becky. Thank you for your reply. I did go back to the clinic a few days after the procedure and was told the implant had settled in the right place. Its just that I'm not really convinced. A thorough eye test at the opticians two weeks ago confirmed my eye is healthy and he couldn't see anything amiss, just a floater. I may never get answers, but my gut feeling, despite what the doctor said, is it is the implant because of the shape of it. May ring the clinic again if I can get through!
