Opthalmologist referred me to a retinal specialist whom I have seen every 4 weeks for the last 5 years for avastin-eylea injections and now wants to see me every 6 weeks.
My dilemma is the referring opthalmologist still wants to see me every 6 months.
I am suffering from appointment overload, there should be no need to keep seeing my referring opthalmologist since he basically just gives me a quick look-over, cash cow?
Can I just refuse to keep seeing my referring doc and cancel future appointments without any repercussions or can this jeopardize my present treatment options?
Just wondeing if anybody else has had to deal with this.

I can ask my retinal specialist his opinion as to whether or there is a need to keep seeing my opthalmologist, never thought to do that, thank-you Tetrazzini.
Does your referring ophthalmologist have a different specialism from your retinal specialist?
Were you originally seeing them for another eye condition that was not related to the retina? If so, this would be a reason that they would want to continue seeing you.
Pretty sure they deal with the same types of disorders but the more I think about it the more I realize that maybe I should not be burning any bridges.
