Macushield
Honestly? I take it but there's no way of me knowing what would have been different if I hadn't. I rely on the expert's assessment that the ingredients help ( same for eating the "right" foods).
It's convenient ( for palatability had to add so much fruit to green smoothies that I put on weight!).
I take them but as an individual you never know if they are helping as you don’t know how you’re vision would be if you didn’t.
You just have to rely on studies and hope they are helping.

Before taking macushield or arads2 and cbd oil I needed 3 more injections, after taking them I didn't need any injections, so they worked for me. I think it is a case of suck it and see.
What kind of cbd oil and what strength and where do u get your macushield thanks
I 'm afraid the strength of the cbd oil is as strong as I can afford and the macushield I buy on 3 for 2 in Boots if there isn't any cheaper on Ebay.
I have taken Macushield for many years, including before I was diagnosed with AMD as there is a family history of AMD. I have no way of knowing if it's been beneficial but keep taking it as recommended by my Opthalmologist. If I had not taken it at all my AMD could have started years earlier and be much worse but I will never know. The advice of my Opthalmologist is that the vitamin supplements are beneficial to good eye health. I also take a daily multivitamin in winter months. A healthy diet, with fresh vegetables & fruit is also essential. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
I've taken Macushield gold for three years and I've told no change and the specialist said it won't stop it but will slow it down. Hope this helps. Boots 3 for the price of 2
Dear Tessa83,
I am copying a link to our Nutrition booklet in case this may be of interest:

We do not recommend particular supplements, but Macushield Gold is one of the supplements that conforms to the AREDS 2 formula which is detailed in the booklet.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to discuss this further.

Kind regards,
Like others I have no idea , though I stopped taking and subbed with much cheaper bilberry extract pills after spending ages doing ingredient comparisons. The first eye specialist suggested taking macushield gold as said that even my good diet wouldn’t supply enough active ingredient, another doctor further down the line wasn’t sure they helped and no one noted whether I was or wasn’t taking them which seems like a lost opportunity for some basic research. I got great results with Eyelea and will never really know if the macushield helped.
